I don't know if they actually hate real emo.

Cos personally I hate scene kids and these fuckin 15 year olds with hair that costs more than my outfit in a shitty band tee shirt and 8 layers of eyeliner. Who then criticize your music as it apparently lacks meaning and sentiment.

But actual emo, I don't give a fuck. I think I just saw too many scene kids this summer*

I think modern emo (some people call it faux-mo) has been badly labelled by someone down the line, but it's what people call it and I think it's pretty much whack (maybe even delving into the realms of wiggidy wiggidy whack) what people seem to hate it because of it.

I like faux-mo, I don't like My Chemical Romance (anymore), I don't like FFTL. I don't like every faux-mo band.

I like emo/screamo. I don't like Rites Of Spring that much.

faux-mo hasn't progressed from what emo was, someone just made a decision to call it that a while go because the word sounds nice or something.

that's why most people hate emo, because it's just another genre for something that's been around for ages, kinda like having a band that sounds identical to black flag but naming yourselves blah-blah-blah-core instead of just punk, which you are. and we really need modern emo don't we? cos it's not like old emo came about yesterday is it? fucking cockspunkers!

emo is a good thing cos before it there was no emotion in music, jimi hendrix was a statue and i don't recall johnny rotten ever giving much of a toss about the songs he sang about. musicians have had a new lease of life with this emotion thing.


to be honest i and most people who slag emo have not a clue what it is and to be honest we don't give a munch, i really hate any genre that's been thought up by a prat that could easily have been explained as something that existed already.

secondly the daft hair styles and eye liner are allegedly a dead give away for emo yet i think most kids wearing that shit are into good charlotte, so that's another mislead.
