I just like to harp on about emo, because I get fed up of the pretentiousness and wankery that spews from the emo/hardcore scene, and get my kicks from winding up people in said scene.

I don't really care either way to be honest.

there's nothing bullshit or pretentious about the actual emo scene. it's just honest bands playing good music and not profiting from it. that's it. there's no fashion or crews or any of the shite associated with hardcore.

i have heard so many different varations of what emo is..... some people say stuff like fall out boy is emo, some people.. especially americans would say death cab is.

i think its funny how everyone rants on about it and how they dont like being labelled but they will easily label others.


why do people get so worked up about it? do they have such rubbish lives that the only thing to fill there day is go on some daft websites to catch up on the latest 'emo' trends. and wat the most 'emo' thing of the day is.

Why not live by your own thoughts and ideas and not someone elses views on the subject?

And why does everyone think they are better than anyone else because they know what true emo is....

surly it should be about the music, and not the genre???

there is however alot of bullshit and pretentiousness with everyone that thinks that theyre the authority on genres and will moan about somebody giving the label to the wrong band.

last few years it was exactly the same with punk. "blink 182 and new found glory arent punk, fuck you theyre shit! i hate you for liking them because you think your so punk rock... your not, i hate you, its about the music.. that band can afford food, theyre not punk! god sake i hate them... etc etc"

replace the word punk with emo, b182 and nfg with tbs and mcr. and its the same argument over and again!

right enough, but bands like mcr and tbs especially, are pop punk bands. not once did they call themselves emo. it was the media. go and moan at them
