I certainly found it sobering viewing.

Apparently this is Sony BMG's new weapon against piracy after the covert software their CD's contained was exposed.

Either that or it was an outtake from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air :P

this is slightly on and off topic, but the new copy prevention in pc games is pretty solid. since 99% of people use a SCSI virtual cd-rom to play pirated games all games publishers seem to be disallowing the use of SCSI (real or virtual) in running their games so you have to disable all SCSI on your system to run them. the only way to get around this is to temporarily disable all IDE drives which makes the software believe your real CD drive is a SCSI model and this allows you to have 1 SCSI device enabled - and this is the drive you put the pirated disc in ;p

tbh i'm no stranger to copied games, music or films but like any decent person if i like an album, game or movie i'll buy it if i've liked it. but with recent downloadable games having to mess with my system for 20 mins every time i want to play something it's deterred me a lot. from now on the majority of my fun will be from magazine demo cd's (nicked ofcourse

Legally you are allowed to back up your disks though! One of my favourite games got scratched a bit back and had to buy a second copy because previously i was unable to copy it, despite it being a legal entitlement.
