i'd suggest ditching all the imagery for now, get yourself a new username that isn't smm related, ask casually if anyones up for a jam and take it from there.

try the music forums for aberdeen, glasgow and edinburgh too.

Exactly,whats the point of wanting to have a certain image then ending up with people in a band that actually dont want to play that type of stuff and dress the same as requested,then a bit down the line it fucks up because actually there not on the same wave length,whats wrong with saying what you want from the start and getting the right people,i mean if a boxer told you he could knock your teeth out would you assume he was a dentist?,just because someone says they can play a certain instrument just to get in a band sucks,could you imagine cradle of filth wearing cut offs and trainers? to me when i see an image of a band i assume im gonna know what they sound like. at least Norrie and Nikki are being honest in saying what they want in this band.good luck to them,i hope they make it work just to make the rest of you shut the fuck up.

sensible? how is saying that you need to wear certain clothes to play in a band a sensible comment? yeh listing influences and maybe a logo is a good idea but what your sayign is you need to look a certain way to be aloud to play in a band. uhm, since when was Masonic Abyss a pop band? and a manufactured one at that?

eh? hey think i might apply to join,in my jeans n t-shirt,your well thick,they have stated they want the goth look,oh tell you what just make them dress diffrent to suit everyone else,go for it guys you will get a band in no time and be totally like everyone else....just exactly what you want eh,they will definatly stand out in the crowd being like everyone else.

I'm all for theatrics and stuff now and again but image should the least important aspect of a band, to see it as of equal importance to the sound/craftsmanship of the music, or the message it's conveying is retarded.
I think that getting a bunch of people who are into different musical styles together for a jam can produce far more interesting results than the usual approach of planning your sound based on the narrow range of stuff you listen to before you've even played a note.
I don't understand why anyone would want to put themselves in a box when they have a blank page in front of them.

aye i'm stupid. The whole point of what im saying is that why are they so fixated in what everyone's gon na look like and what their myspac is gonna look like when really, it doesnt make a fucking differnece if your really in it to make music.

and im really sorry man but no matter how "Goth" they look, they'r not the only goth band in the world and it wont do shit for their level of popularity.

if anything they'r just pigeon holing themselves from the word go.

thats a reasonable post, but think its best to leave them to find band members for the time being anyway.
