hmm. he has sounded like this for years now, and i don't think it's neccesarily bad. sorry to kill the laughs in a bollocks thread, but i will always stand up for dylan's voice. he's never had a 'nice' voice, and it's always changed, and yes it has degraded with age etc, but at least he's still using it. he has always changed his songs and style as he goes, i suppose it's not great if you are intending to see a concert of classic dylan, but at least he is not touring the same old stuff as so many ageing rock stars do...

He's reaping the benefit of high ticket prices though. I know 3 people who've seen him live independently of each other and they all said the same thing, he seemed disinterested and bored as he mumbled his way thru a set a shit songs, no interaction with his audience at all. He can kiss my arse, he wrote some good tunes 40 odd years ago, but he's written plenty duffers for every decent one and doesn't deserve a tenth of the respect he gets.

Also, how come you have so much time to post if your in Paris? I'd well be visiting Evry and Lisses if I was in France!

it's because i'm staying at my aunt+uncle's house a wee bit out from the centre, so i have to come back every night on the train. it's also nice to maintain some consistency... although i would like to be in town in the middle of the night once or twice.

and dylan... fair enough if you don't like it, but no-one's forcing you to buy his new records or go to his new concerts, you know what you're letting yourself in for. i think it's good that he's still making music if that's what he wants to do, which i think it is. i've not heard it but his new album is meant to be pretty good too...

I think the fact that magazines like uncut still have a wank over Dylan every month highlights a lack of new and interesting stuff happening in the world of music rather than anything else. I can pretty much guanrantee his new album is hopeless.
