yea, numerous people who ive spoken to have indeed confirmed, no ripped jeans, facial piercings and general mosherness is allowed downstairs in the westport bar at the present time!

went in for a pint a couple of days ago, and got painfully dirty looks of the lady at the bar. like she was deciding to serve me at all, or to just chuck me out for being the only thing in the pub that wasn't nice shiny and looked like ikea furniture.

she gave me a horrible 'you scum' look and shrug-combo when I asked where the pile of newspapers were. She looked like she wanted to kill me.

i dont see what the problem is, if the westie kept going the way it was it would be out of business in 8-12months, whihc would have meant one less venue to play

so what, the wankers are downstairs, gigs upstairs, i dont see the problem. its not like you all drank in the downstairs bar before, and you have had it taken away from you, it never appeared to be a regular haunt for anyone, never mind moshers et al
