The most confusing aspect over this case is that calling something Mohammed is an insult/blasphemy etc, yet the most popular male name for Muslims is Mohammed.

Calling human Mohammed good,
Being in the same room with people calling a teddy bear Mohammed bad?

The whole thing is absolutely insane. Apparently people had been trying to shut down the school for ages because it was mixed-race/mixed-religion. Some raving lunatic heard about the teddy bear thing and decided it was the perfect excuse to get the school closed.

When I worked in London I had two members of staff called Mohammed. One was known as Mohammed and the other Mo. Apparently, Mo didn't mind his name being shortened but Mohammed did because it was insulting the prophet and therefore insulting his religion. And they were both equally as religious as each other, from what I could gather.
