matching Withnail drink for drink in Whithnail and I is a famous and fun one.
lighter fluid optional. there is that one "Buzz". your group sits in a circle and clockwise, starting at one, shout out consecutive numbers. Whenever 7, a multiple of 7 or any number with a 7 in it comes round the person due to say it must say "buzz" instead. if they manage to do this the game continues but anticlockwise. if they forget to say "buzz" they have to down their drink. I think i've made that game seem needlessly complicated |

Ring of Fire is the best!
also: flip cup beer pong everytime i've played it, it's been: if you get a king you've got to pour your drink into the glass in the middle (usually huge, like a beer stein or something) untill you've added a quarter. the person who gets the last one has to do that, then down the mix. obviously works best if you're not all drinking the same. |

That is the core rule to Kings. Kings isn't Kings without it really. We have written rules for the game of Kings that me and my pals play, but if you check the net, you'll find like another 500 versions.

KINGS (Super mondo P.C.C. version)
How to play A minimum of three to four people is necessary to make this game fun. Anything more than ten people is probably too much... Spread a deck of ordinary cards on a table or on the floor, with all participants sitting in a circle around them. Remove Jokers. Nominate someone to start. The first participant picks a card from the deck. The card refers to particular games or punishments, you must follow these - ACE - 5 finger nomination (1) 2 - 2 finger nomination 3 - 3 finger nomination 4 - Relations (2) 5 - Categories (3) 6 - One Smart Fellow (4) 7 - 7's (5) 8 - Toilet Card (6) 9 - Bust-a-rhymes (7) 10 - Down it (8) JACK - 21 (9) QUEEN - Neck Posts (10) KING – ¼ fill the king cup (11) Game Rules and Regulations - FINGERS - Fingers is the general criteria for determining how much you have to drink regarding punishments and nominations. To determine this hold your glass with your index finger sitting in line with the top of your drink, then use subsequent fingers to measure how much you need to drink. TOILET - You are not allowed to leave to go to the toilet unless you are possession of a Toilet Card (this is explained in (5) of 'Individual Card Rules') LEFT HAND DRINKING - You can only drink with your left hand PUNISHMENT FOR NOT USING YOUR LEFT HAND TO DRINK - 2 fingers DOUBLE TAP - Double tap glass every time you take a drink and are going to put it down PUNISHMENT FOR NOT DOUBLE TAPPING - 2 fingers EMPTY VESSEL - Say 'empty vessel' when drink is finished PUNISHMENT FOR NOT SAYING EMPTY VESSEL - Refill drink and down it NO SWEARING - Strong language such as 'shit', fuck', 'cunt' etc... is NOT allowed. Mild language such as 'gay' and 'knob' if contested will be put to a vote by all participants, or left to the decision of an outside judicator (someone who is not involved in the game, yet has been watching; the latter is always preferred if available). If this results in an equal vote the judgemement of a game of Rock, Scissors, Paper will decide in favour of the winner. Not best out of three, one game only, for speeds sake. PUNISHMENT FOR SWEARING - 2 fingers NO POINTING - You can not directly point at anything. You can use a fist and use it to illustrate pointing. If actions such as 'gesturing' are contested it will be put to a vote by all participants, or left to the decision of an outside judicator (someone who is not involved in the game, yet has been watching; the latter is always preferred if available) If this results in an equal vote the judgement of a game of Rock, Scissors, Paper will decide in favour of the winner. Not best out of three, one game only. PUNISHMENT FOR POINTING - 2 fingers FALSE ACCUSATION - False accusation is in place to protect people from being bullied too much. If a participant accuses another participant of breaking any of the rules, and it is found that accuser is in the wrong, it will lead to the punishment of the accuser. FALSE ACCUSATION PUNISHMENT - The accuser must down their drink. Individual Card Rules - In these rules I will make reference to a person taking too long to provide an answer... this time period can be determined by the participants... however, the fact of the matter is, the faster the better. (1) 5 finger nomination is the only nomination that can be divided into numerous nominations e.g. one finger for Tom, two fingers for Chris and two for fingers Matt however, this is not necessary, it can all be given to one person. (2) Relations is a game where the participants must relate words to one another based on what the participant before them has said. The first participant will determine the direction of the ENTIRE game by using the relevant hands on their shoulders and saying either "to my left" or "to my right". An example of this could be.... ....Chris picks a card with the number four on it, he says "tuna, to my left" the person to his left is next, and may say something like "fish", the person to their left may say "sea" etc...// this is continued until someone either repeats a word already used, says something completely irrelevant or takes too long to provide an answer PERSON WHO LOSES - Takes two fingers of their drink (3) Catergories is a game that occurs when a participant chooses a card with the number 5 on it. The person who chose the card must select a category and the rest of the participants must name things within that category. The first participant will determine the direction of the ENTIRE game by using the relevant hands on their shoulders and saying either "to my left" or "to my right". An example of this could be.... ....Matt picks a card with the number five on it, he chooses 'Simpson Characters' as a category. He will begin by saying something like "Maggie, to my right" the participant to his right might say 'Homer' etc...// this is continued until someone either repeats a word already used, says something completely irrelevant (or wrong) or takes too long to provide an answer. PERSON WHO LOSES - Takes two fingers of their drink (4) One Smart Fellow is a pretty straight-forward tongue-twister game. A participant who picks a six card begins by saying "One Smart Fellow, He Felt Smart, to my left". The participant to the first participants left will then say "Two Smart Fellows, They Felt Smart"; the parctipant to their left will then say "Three Smart Fellows, The Felt Smart" and so on until someone says it incorrectly. Anyone can decide the direction of the game when it is their turn. By placing the relevant hand upon your shoulder you determine the direction that the game goes, yet you do not need to actually say the direction! Only the first player must say the direction out loud. (5) 7's is a reasonably simple number game. When a participant picks a card with a 7 on it, this game begins. The aim of the game is to count from 1 - infinity (depending how good your participants are). However, any number that has a 7 in it or is a multiple of 7 must be recognised by crossing your arms across you chest and not SAYING the number. For example - Chris - 1 Matt - 2 Tom - 3 Chris - 4 Matt - 5 Tom - 6 Chris - (FOLDS ARMS ACROSS CHEST, STAYS SILENT) *INFO! Once a 7 or multiple of 7 occurs the direction of the game reverses! Therefore the game would continue like this... Tom - 8 Matt - 9 Chris - 10 Tom - 11 Matt - 12 Chris - 13 Tom - (FOLDS ARMS ACROSS CHEST, STAYS SILENT) The direction of the game would then again reverse, and so on. Other rules regarding this game! Anyone can decide the direction of the game when it is their turn. By placing the relevant hand upon your shoulder you determine the direction that the game goes, yet you do not need to actually say the direction! Only the first player must say the direction out loud. For example if you wanted the person to your right to go next you would place your left hand upon your right shoulder! This obviously does not count on 7's or multiples of 7 as the direction of the game is determined by the reversal. You lose by saying the number out loud when on a 7 or multiple of 7, taking too long to provide the correct number, not crossing your arms on 7's or multiples of 7, saying the wrong number and so on... PERSON WHO LOSES - Takes two fingers of their drink (6) Toilet Card allows a person to go to the toilet. At no other point can a person go to the toilet in this game. This can be used at the participant leisure. It can be sold, stipulate the price yourself depending on how desperate fellow participants are. The act of leaving the room that the game is being played in is really the only factor that the Toilet Card changes, if you can find inventive ways of relieving yourself in the room, that is allowed, however this largely comes down to the discretion of the home-owner... In rooms or houses where smoking is not allowed, toilet cards can be used for a 'fag-break' as a substitute for going to the toilet. (7) Bust-A-Rhymes is a game that involves rapping... to some extent. General idea is someone either beat box’s or drums (if such options are available ((use your legs if you want))) a pretty simple 4-4 beat. The participant who picks the card begins by 'rapping' a line or two, the next person continues this using the same type of rhyming word and so on For example - Chris - I hear your mums embarrassed she raised a fag Matt - She's just pissed cause three out of four weeks she's on the rag etc etc etc... This is continued until someone either repeats a rhyming word already used or takes too long to provide a line (8) Down-it. Very straight forward, finish what is left of your drink in one session. PUNISHMENT - If you don't do it in one you have to down another full glass. (9) 21. Similar to 7's however in this game you only recognise multiples of 7 (7, 14, 21, 28, 35.... 70, 77 and so on...). In addition to this you cross you arms across your chest on multiples yet SAY the number; the direction of the game DOES NOT reverse. The game direction is determined at the start of the game by the first participant and does not change until reversed. However, the use of hands on shoulders must be used to indicate the direction of play throughout the game. The same punishment applies for the same reasons as 7's. (10) Neck Posts is a most fun and aggravating game that can last the duration of 'The Drinking Game'. When a participant selects a Queen card, they can at any point during the game put their hands behind their neck, indicating the beginning of the game Neck Posts. The last person to get their hands behind their neck loses and must down what is left of their drink. (11) King Cup – Pull a king, quarter fill an empty pint glass with your drink. Do so every time a King card is pulled. Person who pulls the last King pours in their share and then drinks the dirty pint. Extra When you are done with a card, place it some in a separate pile outside of circle to ensure that they do not get mixed in again. Queens and 8's (Toilet Cards) are kept by participant until used. Try to use the same sized glasses. Pint glasses are good, but obviously the amount of alcohol consumed can become ridiculous... especially when false accusations / swearing / pointing / empty vessels start coming into play. Best drink full-stop is cider. Cheap and plentiful, and trust me, you need LOTS of drink for this game, it is solely designed to get you fucked. Mixers and beer are also alright, as long as you have a decent supply. Obviously the rules seem strict etc... but they add to what is so good about this game, trying to control yourself when drinking is nearly impossible, especially when a level of competitiveness is added in. Change the rules to suit yourselves and what you want to do. Generally by this I mean, change cards to mean other things, I would not recommend getting rid of swearing, pointing etc... cause the arguments surrounding these can be absolutely hysterical. Additional/Replacement Rules First full names only Dirty pints isn't your game, change the King to a game of shoulders - Shoulders. Similar to both 7's, however in this game you only recognise the number 7, not multiples of 7! (7, 17, 27, 37, 47, 57, 67, 70, 77) Similarly to 7's the direction can be changed on the whim of the participant who is in play, by simply placing their hands on the relevant shoulder. However when a 7 crops up, the direction of play is still determined by the reversal. As with 7's you must cross your arms across your chest and remain silent when you come across a number containing a 7. Change the Jack to a change a rule card. Confuse your pals by changing what you have to call each other or double up fingers etc… Adding in a Joker card for a dirty pint is always good. Toilet usage can obviously become an issue, set up punishments for anyone who HAS to use the toilet, like downing pints etc... |
