Gargle Blaster and Abstract Machine were almost certainly conjured up using the 'flick-through-the-dictionary-and-put-a-finger-down' method of band naming (best not used when choosing a name for a child).

How abstract can this machine be exactly? A spite calculator? Notion digger? Lobster on a phone?
