Local Bands Should Be Played At Cage - Page 8

know what i was thinking the other day? i'd like to hear local bands at cage doing a sort of orange playlist style thing...get people from bands to choose like 5 songs...4 that have influenced them and 1 of their own...to be played that would be pretty cool. you could do it to fit with the night like get the sicktrick lads to do it for an entropy night then the boys from equilibrium for a cage night or whatever...mike davies does it on the lockup and i always pick up some pretty cool new stuff from the people he has on sharing their influences

AYE!! Sicktricks biggest influences would probably be Slayer, Metallica, Staind, Coal Chamber and, of course, Faith No More. See the influences in our music?

i love that idea, it does sound good. Let me look into this a bit more, we've started talking about doing live bands. We just need to arrange the finer details.

tbh, i dont really like the idea of bands being played at cage. I've not been in the new pub yet but personally i think it should be a place where gigs arent played as there are so many pubs in Dundee that have bands playing. I hate it when you go out to the balcony to meet up with people to find theres a band playing and you have to go elsewhere either because the band are shit or you just want a laugh with your mates. I think its a good idea to have bands playing on special events but every week would ruin it.

Just to say folks, bands play on a Friday and Sunday in the Balcony.......so if you want a quiet night avoid on those days.

Obviously the Cage bar is going to have an effect on the Balcony as it is going to thin the crowd out a bit but I do hope that people still come along and have a jolly good laugh.

Especially on Saturdays to get yer requests played by yours truly!

even Dougs become a regular again

I do believe I shall be checking out the Cage bar on friday.

Lets be honest, if you want a quiet night on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, pubs in general aren't the places to go!

Yeah, I agree with that, I'm not looking to put bands on week in week out, I may only do it once a month, if that.
