Oooooops, for my part I was meaning the stereotypical non-educated-delinquent variety that saunter in wearing such items as burberry shirts and kappa caps.
One chap sat down next to me n my friends a few weeks ago. not a problem at all. But it became a nuiscence when he did get a tad annoying by constatnly saying "this fuckin music all pish man", moaning about the way people looked and then he tried to steal my cider...why? Whhhhhhhyyyyyyy???

It's been a while since I've been along, so maybe what I'm saying here doesn't bear a lot of relevance and will go off topic, I dunno. Anyway, I love(d) the atmosphere at Cage. There's usually plenty of people I know and can talk to whenever I go, and for the most part the music is very good. Now, I'm into a vast range of music, probably erring on the more mainstream side of things, but that doesn't mean to say I love a lot of obscure or underground bands as well. I reckon Doug does a marvellous job of trying to appease everyone, or at least most of the punters. Erm... yeah.

The first time my parents allowed me to go to the Cafe Club when I was 17, I had to be home by midnight which somewhat defeated the purpose ... When I was underage, I was always convinced that I would be found out and sent home in a police car, so I behaved myself even more than I normally would have anyway.

I think that's the difference - many of the underagers I've seen at Cage/Entropy have not only *looked* very young but have been acting like morons and/or sluts. I'd point them out to Neil or Doug but I'd end up seeming like a bitter old spoilsport (which, incidentally, I am).

Much as I dislike that way of thinking, the only people I've encountered at Cage whose behaviour has ever seemed threatening or worrying to me as opposed to just plain stupid or irritating have been people who didn't look as if they 'fitted in'. Late licence nights seemed to be the worst as if there were people there who knew they weren't going to enjoy the music but couldn't get in anywhere else at that time of night.

Err...yes, I have sometimes noticed people who (no narrow-mindedness intended) look like they got knocked back from Deja-Vu/fell out of the birthday function upstairs appearing at Entropy.

But got to agree with Doug on this one with the fact that Cage is a buisness and the punters rule the buisness in this sense....what the majority want, should get to keep buisness busy but we know there will also be some heavier stuff that people like...it's an actual job and if it is just limited to RAWK METAL MAN! and none of the more indieish stuff a lot of buisness would be lost.

The younger kids are taking over, I remember this from Kerosene to seeing what it is now when I do go to Kerosene nowadays (being that i only recognise a few people there) but as long as people enjoy themselves and I manage to sneak a few requests on and dance like a mong i'm happy. Happier when I see Brian dance like a mong as well...now that is class!

Especially seeing what its like at the union now...all these 18 year olds look so much younger now, due to the fact i'm an old git (Colin must have been thinking that for a LONG time now!!!), but hell it's all fun....and not all youngsters are mongs. I've learnt that from frequent trips to mono and such and it's a good laugh!

Also, if anyone sees a bunch of alchies on Wednesdays, buys us drinks!!! Nurses last night out before we go on placement

Maybe i just tend to notice more whats going on around me seeing as i'm now a tee totaller and i'm an easily irratable kinda guy so that doesnt help! And after going to these clubs for years it just doesnt seem to be as appealling anymore.....

No offence meant to you Doug when i posted this thread by the way. Was just that i noticed Cage isnt what i think it used to be anymore & just wanted to see if anyone felt the same.

I don't fully agree with this. yeah there are some "neds" who do go to cage and cause trouble, but i have two friends in particular who don't dress "metal" and love the metal/alternative scene.

my friend Mally came with myself and a few of our friends once, on this occassion Mally was wearing jeans, an iron maiden t-shirt and a baseball cap. some ignorant twat in the toilets told him he didn't deserve to be wearing a maiden t-shirt, and he shouldn't be in the club because he was a "ned". personally i think this guy was pretty immature, do we have to wear "metal" clothes to like metal music and go to alternative clubs? I think not!

However, I do agree that some "neds" only go to cause trouble. I have witnessed this myself in cage maybe two or possible three time. Like we've all said time and time again, it's not fair.

About the lesbian thing, someone said that this is what young girls do, mainly underagers. To be honest, it't not just the younger crowd, I've spotted a few acts of lesbian kissing, and if I'm being really honest, I've been part of it (shiona was pissed and kissed me!!) but I can honestly say that on my account, it wasn't for the attention.

I feel for the bouncers about underagers, and the abuse that goes on in cage. I'm not angel, I've been a few arguments in cage, and some have led to violence, on both parts (i take full responsibility for my part played). Bouncers must find it really hard to try and keep the place running smoothly, as well as keeping an eye out for these underagers and trouble makers.

Whoever said this is clearly into alternative music for the image, and is just as bad as people that make comments about metallers on the street. They're the ones that don't belong in Cage.
