Hi, I'm Bry and I've had a pretty good idea...
...rather than sit about at home all summer (I live in Moray - ie middle of nowhere) I'm going to make a documentary / tour video type thing, cuz I can borrow a video camera (an old one... VHS-C!) off someone. The idea is I go to loads of gigs in places like Dundee, Glasgow, Arbroath, Kirkcaldy (cuz I've never been to gigs in any of those places!) as well as Aberdeen and Inverness; film bands who kick ass, maybe interview a couple of people, film drunk people and generally make a cool documentary that I could copy and give away to people who asked for it at the end of the summer! It'll all be done DIY and non-profit style, and I'd film any band as long as they weren't acting like rockstars and that kind of thing. So what I'm asking is: is there anyone in Dundee, Glasgow etc (or anywhere else there are cool gigs) that could let me crash at theirs post-gig? I hardly know anyone in the Scottish punk scene, so that's why I'm asking here. I'm 17 (but can't drive), a non-smoker, non-vegan or vegetarian (but I'll eat vegan or vegetarian food) and I don't smell too bad. And I won't steal your TV or anything! I like shitloads of music - from ska to grindcore and emo to thrash... so I'll talk about punk rock for hours if you get me started!... Also, if you're putting on a gig between early July and mid August, there's a good chance I could go to it, so your gig collective could get more recognition and the bands playing at your gig could also be captured on tape and seen by, well, umpteen people... So if you can be arsed, e-mail me at brychologist23@rock.com and tell me about your gigs (and if there's anywhere I could crash at - that's kinda important) or if you want to help out in any other way - I'd appreciate it! Thanks a lot guys...
The 28th gig at the Westport Bar seems like the one I'd want to do most so far... but I've never been to Dundee, so I'd have to get someone to meet me off the train, or possibly get a very good map! The 19th of August one is too late - I'd be back at school then - sorry. I'll try and get on tape one of those end of July gigs, cuz Tearjerk are one of the bands I especially want to get on tape (other 'really wanted' bands include Fighting Cougars, Dangerfields and any American bands - cuz it'd shift more copies if there were Americans on it, haha!) but yea, thanks again! Thanks as well to Bobsy... can anyone else offer me a place to crash at? (especially in Fife after the No Pints/State of Affairs/Dangerfields gig sometime in August? It'd kick ass to be at that gig!) Bry. |

Punk Iconess ... it'd be great to catch Trash Superstar, especially with Anti Product, but the Dangerfields are playing in Aberdeen on the 22nd of July, and I'm going to that.
sorry. any other gigs anyone, just mention them here (as long as I can get a place to crash, blah blah blah!) Bry. |

Thanks Baz...
if I don't catch you live this summer, I'd appreciate the footage of your England gigs... but I probably will see you live. What song's the lyrics on your sig from? They're cool - a Tearjerk song, yea? Did you ever get that e-mail I sent about the NSPR site, by the way? Bry. |

Mr_Core,
I just found out my band are recording our first album/demo/extended EP between the 20th and 28th...so I'll miss most of that tour... so I could possibly film one of the last 2 gigs in your sig... we'll see. No, I'm not an axe murderer... not in this life, anyway! Bry. |
