Anyone fancy selling out?? i wanna make a pop band can't be arsed getting a job.
Anyone fancy selling out?
Want to make a side project purely to make money in a hopefully fun way, well beter than working in tescos or some shit. I'm prety sure there's money in it. Just do covers and maybe if goes well right own shit, not too serious just a bit of fun, put on well orginised gigs in populal studenty places and play at events and stuff like that. I'm currently the drummer for self made man, a dundee metal band. So would be looking for a whole line up or a ready formed band seeking a drummer preferebly 18plus and dundee based or east fife based. Competent drummer, can play most styles of music. Main influences include- sikth, opeth, between the buried and me, decapitated, the red chord etc more importantly... more popular music which i like- the arcade fire, queens of the stone age, pink floyd, jeff buckley, nick drake, the smiths morissey, biffy clyro, coheed is cambria, cypress hill, snoop dogg, wu tang clan, death cab for cutie, portishead, faithless, death in vegas, massive attck, roni size, prodigy, moby, dave brubeck etc but will play proper full blown pop if have to but would rather vear towards trendy studenty music. if interested contact alastair - scrape62@hotmail.com or post, whatever. |

yeh, theory is: everyone playing all this complex altenative music be it metal, metalcore whatever, theyve gotta be good at playing shity popular music. I bet all the popy sorta bands in dundee, already do it for the money or hopefully, pop has got them into playing instruments and they havn't yet got good and realised alot of the stuff they play is repetative and pretensious and well really sucks.
There's money in it the only hard part is getting a good singer and after that its cash and ladies, what a sell out scam!! |

Thats a rediculous comment. some of the best musicians i have ever seen play in pop bands. some of the worst i have seen play in 'complex metalcore' bands. loads of distortion can hide a lot. |
