thorro is an unknown quantity at this point
Saw At the Drive In at t in the in the park about 5 or 6 years ago in 1 of the tents, not long before 1 armed scissor came out.No one,it seemed, knew who they were, but they proceeded to play one of the most stunning sets I have ever seen that afternoon, in front of no more than about 50 people[that was before the t folk started treating people as sardines].The recordings they made dont even come close to capturing the ferocity I witnessed on stage that day.A hard act to follow.

Their name meant nothing to me that year. Likewise Aereogramme who were on the same stage that day too. It was on the BBC highlights that I first saw both of them.

The people that like at the drive-in will surely all think this is a bad idea, half the people that go to gigs in dundee have probably never even heard of them

If it's a bad idea then don't join the band and if we ever do gig then i'm sure the songs will be of such a low quality that your ears will never hear the real songs again and it would be better if you didn't come see us at all either. Makes sense to me.

Look, if its sounding crap and the songs are not taking shape at all then I'll ditch the idea. The fact that "half the people that go to gigs in dundee have probably never even heard of them" actually makes me want to do this more, rather than give up completely.

If you're any good you could probably pull of the tunes live, but the only thing that'll be of concern is the vocals, that'll without a doubt be the hardest thing

I saw At The Drive-In at the Arches in Glasgow. By Christ they were good.
Regarding a tribute band, don't bother. Like Nirvana, ATDI are one of these bands that just shouldn't be covered because there was something about THEM, the band, the style, the mannersims, the atmosphere they create that wasn't just the music.
