lyrics to the new stuff

aye, so here are all the lyrics i've written for the new songs, some of them are work in progress (mainly "The Polar Myth")

Adelande Letters

This epoch provokes the worst in us,
The god of war awaits our arrival,
We look to the gates of Cydonia,
God forefend.

The face of Mars,
Adorning a skyline,
Once fought for by men marred by dreams,
birthed from the womb of a distant kin.

Their scope was sold to the pioneers,
Who walked upon and were statues to these red sands.

Worldly treasures,
Imploded,
Under the writ of a misanthropy,
Forged to protect,
To safeguard us from an enemy that changes flank,
Every new moon.

These are the crow’s feet makeup cannot infiltrate,
Pyramids.

The pilgrims who built this land now fertilise our crops,
The solitude we once knew will oppose us all.

We destroyed their race,
We revoked their creed,
We denied them life,
And we are welcomed home,
We denied them sloth,
We denied them greed,
We denied them wrath,
And we are welcomed home.

We are welcomed home to Pangaea.
Welcome home.

Welcome Home, Explorer

Welcome Home, Explorer

Dreaming of a foreign sun so bright it scorches our corneas,
Pave the way for this armada.

Utopias; unwritten, unravelling,
We play upon your lack of systema,
This land is ripe with those who cherish all of yesteryears shortfalls,

They spit blood; bound to abhorrence,
Inciting a hatred,
Running stitched into their tongues,
I pray for them in all ambiguity.

This birthday, a line drawn in the sand,
Thus I pray to an empty sky,
Thus I pray to the fallen Romans,
I the iconoclast,
Thus I pray to an empty sky.

The Polar Myth

This paradigm tastes so sour,
Haunted by the Somme’s intrepid misanthropy.

Towns were destroyed,
Eyes were transfixed,
We heard;
“Do not meet me at the citadel, until your pale is full”,
From the lake we drank from,
Since frozen over

They just gaze back from beneath the ice,
Into the eyes of those their elders told them to conquer,
They had worn their sacred garments in vein,
They had besmirched
Hand turned to fists and war was waged.

I learned to breathe underwater,
I learned to withstand the bitter cold,
We never stopped swimming towards you.

Your holy words, withheld no further truth.

The Polar Myth has some influences from some lyrics Calum wrote, and Welcome Home Explorer has some influence from a poem Kieran wrote.

Polar Myth still has to be tweaked and Dave is yet to add some lyrics to it.

We have another song called "Verme Y Sufrir" (See Me and Suffer) but it would take more effort to write it out, and I just spent 20 minutes changing the layout of the lyrics above so they appear more like a poem. They were written origionally to help me and Dave understand the vocal patters.

Hope you enjoy.

Hey, this is the first time I seen what you done with my words. Fits in really well overall.

From what I know of the polar myth (not our song, the actual polar myth) a lot of it makes sense. Nice one
