I say a lot of things on here in a tongue-in-cheek manner - not that most people can tell, I'd agree that it's hard.

I have nothing against Indie - I like some indie, David plays a lot of stuff that I like. The whole bit in the other thread was a piss-take; I thought that would've been fairly apparent, but ah well.

The one thing I've maintained that I don't like about UGS is the cliqueyness. I come on here to chat about music (read: used to), not about what 'x did at such and such a date at x's house' and all the other 'bollocks'. The Lounge and Bollocks is the scourge of this forum, in my opinion.

At the end of the day, a lot of people on here, to me, seem very shallow and false in their attitudes towards others BECAUSE of the 'scene'. I dunno, it pisses me off, and it has for some time now; it's a balloon that's been inflating and has finally burst.

Sorry if you all think I'm a prick, but at least I'M being honest.

your right,there is a large element of cliqueness.but that comes from there being over 2000 members on this forum.obviously people are going to get to know each other and chat about normally friendly topics.

i know u mean alot of the stuff in a light hearted manner,and i know i have never met u and im sure ur very nice.but lets just quit all this nonsense and get back to what matters,music and good nights out.no matter where it is or what is for as long as theres someone out there getting fun out of this,i dont care.

It is just a fucking internet forum - that's my point. My problems with this are when people's opinions filter into everyday life and it creates these 'my shit don't stink' attitudes.

I remeber my first nite at felt months ago. And i knew no-one from UGS but i recognised u ross. I though that was cool thinking "oh, theres that Flaming toilet Bag guy". :P

I dunno, maintaining opinions on and off an internet forum is good - that's being honest (I know I've just contradicted myself, but gimme a break - it's 1am and my head feels like a Frenchman's living in it). Not talking to someone because they're 'not in the scene' is a bit up-your-own-arse to be honest.

Not that it's happened to me really, but I've seen it happen. I just try to avoid the whole scene thing - I like some of the people off here, and some other people just annoy me with their...cliqueyness (hooray, I invented a new word!). By this, I mean that people just kiss each others ass' to gain 'respect' and/or end up talking behind their back. That's NOT being honest, that's what makes some people off here a bunch of fucktards.

I'll probably have no mates after this; if you want to contact me, I'll be in my shack in the woods with a pair of slippers on and a 40-foot long beard.

Ah i see. Well im sure its not intentional, Some people feel more comfortable with a close group of friends.
I try and talk to everyone i know, no matter how little i know them, when out and about and combined with alcomahol this is usaully quite fun!

right well i went to felt with my band the first night it was on, not having a clue wot to expect of the venue or the night, i have rarely missed a felt yet, one i arrived quite late after goin 2 A and E but thats another story .............. anyways my point is ive seen felt become more and more popular/ busy but i have to say felt as felt has not changed
many a week i have seen dave worry 2 much about if peeps will enjoy it or are having fun etc and thats shit cause the guy puts in alot of effort, and doesnt do it for rep points or peeps saying he is cool
felt has gave me and many other a night out in dundee that can actually look forward to, knowin there will b no neds or trouble there....
if it wasnt for felt i wouldnt have met so so so many new cool people and many of them use the ugs
so felt has just as much right to be here and talked about as anything else
im not having ago at people here ....... but im sorry im totally pro felt on this one
as for cliqueyness, well it will happen everywhere,
i often go to felt totally open minded , there is a certain group people i go with each week but i am totally willing to be open and meet new folk
and hey if i come across this cliqueyness its easy enuf just to walk away and chat with ur m8s or other open folk
like i said dont wanna piss anyone off but think i said wot i need to
