The Italian Job
being a mini owner i was invited to attend an advanced preview of the film the other night. And i have to say its not as good as the original, its not based on the original, but there are some similarities and its still a good film to see. Its got a classic and 3 new minis also. It even has Mos Def, the American rapper in it.
its a good film, the story line has a different slant on the usual robbery script and there are some clever moments. The film successfully mergers serious and comical parts together and the character definitions are pretty well done. Each has their own style and attitude and you can see it through the film. Its almost got a slight Gone in 60 Seconds feel to it. It also has one of the best car chases in it that i've seen in a while, but that could be because i'm biased. I'm not sure when it comes out to the general public, but i think its a week or two. I'd go see it if i were you. KJ

Edward Norton fucking rocks, American History X and Fight Club to name his best work. Shitty accent in Red Dragon scuppered his coolicity though.
Probably won't be bothered with The Italian Job since it's probably pants compared to the original, except it has hundred million dollar scenes and people who have been paid the equivolent of the debts of a 3rd world country just to be in it. Yanks did the same with The Ring, cunts. They do it with everything. |
