Yeah I really liked the movie. Don't think Ashton Kutcher deserved all the tsick he got about it.

I believe the Butterfly Effect stems from the Theory Of Relativity and the idea of cause and effect. Its the idea that a butterfly could bat its wings and through a series of events cause a tornado on the other side of the world.

Yeah, it was a good film. Nice to see that Kutcher is a capable actor in a straight role. Though if you sit and start thinking too deeply about the film it hurts your head. Or mine anyway.

No, it's from chaos theory.

Cracking film though. Was a lot better than I expected it to be.

if i remember rightly the theory of relativity is to do with the fact that you can't travel at the speed of light as energy=mass x (speed of light)squared.

if you work it out it says that as you go faster mass decreases but energy increases. so you'd need to be weightless in order to carry enough fuel to go at the speed of light. i think

annnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyywwwwwwaaaaaaayyyyyy i went to see the film tonight, it was pretty good actually, except when he was shouting at the doctor "i wanna see my journals!" and i was just thinking "ah Kelso don't get so upset or Red will put his foot in your ass"

I think that's part of it, but there's a load of other stuff in there too, like time being relative. So time seems to travel slower for people moving faster than you, relative to your frame of reference or something.

Just thought I'd post to say that humndislocation, Jeebus and SpaceMan Andrew are all completely right and that I got totally mixed up. My apologies.

As an object approaches the speed of light its mass tends towards infinity. This means that the amount of energy required to keep it accelerating also tends towards infinity effectively making light speed travel impossible.
