I liked The Cat In The Hat movie better than the book. But that is a bit of a different case from LOTR and Fight Club or the many Stephen King books/movies I've read/watched.

I would like to see ' Gerald's Game ' adapted for the big screen.
My fave books-to-film are....... Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson Rumble Fish by S.E.Hinton Heart Of Darkness by Joseph Conrad Last one isnt really a straight adaptation but the basis for Apocolypse Now. Well worth a read though! ![]() |

'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' by Ken Kesey.
Jack Nicholson was absolutely outstanding - no denying it. The 50s/60s 'Lord Of the Flies' film was rather good too. And also, 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' by Philip K Dick (otherwise known as Bladerunner) Edit: Thought of some more as well. 'To Kill A Mockingbird' by Harper Lee - Gregory Peck is the man. I'm still waiting for someone to attempt a film based on 'The Catcher In The Rye', but I think it would've only been decent back in the day. Modern day directors would absolutely rape it. What about "Trainspotting"? I like the book better than the film, although the film is damn good!
I agree with the Stephen King comments, most of the films adapted from his books are crap, apart from The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption and It which are ruddy good |
