here are mine, all the good films i have seen i never remember their name but here are some i do like:-

wes craven
john carpenter
peter jackson (earlier stuff even though i liked the lotr trilogy)
steven speilberg (when he actually does proper directing and none of that family shite)
kevin smith
there is one director i really like and i usually remember his name but i can't remember it

can't really think of anymore, i always forget stuff when i'm asked about it

brian de palma (scarface,carlito's way,carrie,snake eyes etc)
thon guy who did "the thin red line" (man the camera angles in the long grass scenes gave me flash backs of playing paintball!)

Terrence Malick did The Thin Red Line.....if you liked that, you should watch his film Badlands. It's amazing.
