Comedy Actor Jinx
Does anybody think that when an actor has a blockbuster/quite successful first film which is a comedy it kinda ruins there career? i.e. get pigeon holed as comedy actor.
I mean can anyone see Eddie Murphy,Jim Carrey or Steve Martin ever doing a serious movie?
Just a thought I had at work...cleaning can get boring.

Eternal Sunshine on a Spotless Mind too.

Bill Murray did a serious film after Ghostbusters but it flopped (haven't seen it, would like to though). He went on a self imposed exile from the movie industry for around 5 years, coming back with Scrooged. The stuff he is doing now is still comedy such as Rushmore and Lost In Translation, but it's fair to say it's more serious than caddyshack.

Maybe in terms of how much it made at the box office, but it was critically acclaimed, and it didn't flop as bad as Cable Guy.
