Harry Potter.
Okay, so we're on the 3rd movie + the 5th book. What do people think of Harry Potter? Overrated guff? Genius?
Which outta the 5 would you say the best book? the worst book? Or do you just not care? I personally love the Harry Potter books. I did my higher specialist study on Harry Potter + the Philosophers Stone. The head of department wasn't too impressed I might add but hey .I definitely prefer the books to the films. The movies suck. I'd read all the books about 10 times each before the first movie came out, so when it did I hated it. Because it's nothing like how I imagine the characters in my head.
The 3rd and 5th book are probably the best. I'm the only guy who's replied to this... |

Wonderful books, especially the third (with Peter Pettigrew etc). I don't like the increasing length of them though. The fourth and fifth are far too long.
Its really just an improved version of The Worst Witch. |

the films are no was as good as the books but they are still quite exciting! is it just me or are they a bit scary? i used to read them at night and have to hide under my covers! |

Yeah! I totally know what you mean! In the films I'd be sitting there going 'he's not supposed to look like that' or stuff like 'she should be *insert feature here*. |

i love potter!
the first thing i ever saw/heard of/knew of harry potter was when my girlfriend dragged me to the second movie. i fuckin hated it and couldn't grasp anything. then one night she was readin the 5th and got sore eyes so i read her some. it was the bit when harry was seeing his dad bullying snape. anyway that got me a bit interested so when we were driving home from hers (which takes about 6 hours) she read me the first one and ive been hooked ever since. the prisoner of azkaban was my favourite until i read the goblet of fire and i think the fifth is probably on a par with tgof. the movies still aren't great in comparison to the books but this most recent movie was so much better than the other two. Im worried that tgof movie will have to cut out too much for it to be any good. has anyone noticed the strange sexual tension and awkwardness between ron and hermione in the films? cos i do but ive never read anything which indicates that. unless its an extreme opposites attract thing but i really don't see it in the books |

really? I always saw it coming. I got the first one for christmas 97, thought "book... shite..." chucked it in my wardrobe and forgot about it. next christmas i got the second one and thought "hmmm, i got this last year" so i dug out the first one and realised they were different. the 2nd had a castle on the back though so i thought "cool" then read the back of the first one and being 11 though "WOW! he's a WIZARD!" and read the 2 books in 2 weeks. Then i couldn't wait for the third. and so the story goes. I love potter |
