The Yes Men

Saw this premiere at the DCA last night and its absolutely fantastic. Opening nationwide from today. Reason for premiere is one of the Yes men is staying in Dundee til August.

Film is a documentary following the antics of the yes men as they use a technique they call "identity correction" to impersonate other groups. Famous target was launching gwbush.org as a parody of his real site but trying to show what he really believes.

Main part is how someone registered GATT.org and passed the domain to them. GATT was the trade organisation that preceded the WTO. They get invited to lots of seminars, tv debates and speeches etc as representatives of the WTO.

Cue speeches about how slavery wasnt allowed to run its course and the WTO now supports the eventual goal of slavery, people working in their home area for their Boss in the west who can control them by electrocution into chips in their back via his giant 3ft golden phallus.

pure genius.

The film is excellent, manages to be entertaining and thought provoking at the same time.

Everyone should go and see it.

this is on this week until thursday. ive got concerts all week but hopefully try and catch an earlier show at some point, if there are any.
