Managed to pick up this little masterpiece on DVD for a fiver yesterday from FOPP.
It was selling for £20 in HMV and Virgin so was lucky i shopped about.

Anyway what an amazing film,been a fan of it for a while but watched it again recently for first timein a while and it really is an eye opener.

I think Aronofsky films are class,anyone seen his first Pi?

Both are great although not exactly easy viewing! Utterly insane that Julia bloody Roberts won the oscar ahead of Ellen Burstyn. That was such a brave and intense performance.

Classic film, amputations, game-show schizophrenia and Jennifer Jason-Leigh playing dildo-of-war with another chick. they don't make movies like that anymore.

I always feel a lot healthier after watching Pi. Any headache I may get will seem much less severe than it usually would.

I started to read the book but i was side tracked with a quality book called Powder.Actually will have to finish that also

totally heartbreaking film though, isn't it? I got into a very depressed slump going to bed a couple of weeks ago after watching it

I didn't find it nearly as offensive and horrible as everyone seems to make out. in fact, by the end of it I wanted them all to get fucked up for being so retarded, and took a bit of satisfaction out of it.

plus I still giggle at the mere mention of "ass to ass"

The scenes with the Mother are the best bits. Esp when she's putting on her lipstick & dancing about the room.
