I saw it a while back because Ross 'acquired' it. I loved it. It's one of the few comic- to-film uhh..films that I've liked. I'll probably go see it at the cinema and more than likely buy it when it comes out.

Much better. So yeah, Sin City... quality. I've seen it twice now and I will be watching it many, many more times. The obvious stunningness comes from the beautiful CGI (which is pretty much everything except the actors and some props) - they have truly done the graphic novel justice with the hard black and white lines, subtle colouring and sweet use of negatives. From what I hear every shot, every angle, every line has been taken straight from the comic - not surprising really as it has kept the real intensity that graphic novelists put into every detail. The dialog in this film is so beefy that every line has the same slap-yo-mamma-with-a-brick impact... it adds nicely to the extremely violent, hard-ass imagery of the movie. The actors... I thought they were all spot on, I haven't read any Sin City comics so I can't compare to the originals but they all performed superbly and not one voice was slightly un-cool. Also... I don't think there was a real set for any of the movie, it was 100% green-screened so I'm led to believe, that's gotta be pretty challenging... but less time consuming I guess. So anyway.. GO AND SEE THIS FILM! It's the best movie I've seen since *thinks really hard*... I'll get back to you on that one. |
