As much as I love the Tim Burton films, 'Batman Begins' has finally hit the nail on the head. This is what Batman is supposed to be!
I truely believe this is the start of our generations 'Star Wars' and that these films will grow to be a mile stone in cinematic history. Perhaps Im more excited than most because I always thought 'Star Wars' was total shite and as a result, I didn't get the whole cult craze that surrounds it. Now I do. 'Batman Begins' is, in my opinion, a work of art. I fucking love it!!!!

I totaly agree that this is how Batman always should have been done.
Internet rumour mills suggest this will become a series of Batman movies, with Mark "Luke Skywalker and voice of the animated Joker" Hamill playing the Joker in the next one. hope thats true as it would be rather nifty. |

There are so many ways the films could go. I heard Christian Bale say he wants to make at least one, that has an 18 certificate.
At what point will they bring in Robin? I know he's a bit camp an all, but he is an important part of the Batman Story. In the newer Batman comics, Robin's pretty cool. Plus lets not forget that one of the Robins (Jason Todd) dies, so this would make an interesting story line. E. |

Batman doesn't need to have an 18 certificate to be good. Unless Robin is done really, really well it would be a disaster to introduce him. And technically we've got two dead Robins now, though Steph wasn't Robin when she died. I can't think of any young actor about just now that could pass as Robin, especially if they went for Dick.
Another name linked to The Joker is Crispin Glover of George McFly fame. He'd be pretty good. EDIT: Shite, what was I thinking, Jason Todd ain't dead anymore. |

God, I loved Batman Begins. It was such a complete film, y'know? I'm delighted with what they've done with it - it's made Batman seem more realistic and plausible. I loved the first Keaton Batman, but this is a different film altogether, it's a different concept and a different take on the character. The Batmobile was awesome, everything in the film was done beautifully, and I think it was great that they've trusted the audience to be patient with all the backstory stuff. Fantastic.
Bale was awesome, as was Neeson, but hats off to Gary Oldman for beautifully underplaying the role of Jim Gordon. I thought he was brilliant. Also, Cillian Murphy reminded me ALOT of Johnny Depp. Could Murphy's Scarecrow be the new Depp's Scissorhands? |

. I thought it was pretty decent, although I do prefer the Tim Burton ones myself. I had a wee gripe with the the music, given it was rather dull. It was bombastic, so it did it's job I guess, but it wasn't a patch on the Elfman scores (which had the bombast, but was memorable too). And to whoever went to see it at the DCA; how good does 'Bombón - el perro', the Argentinian film about the man and his dog look? ![]() |

I saw the advert for that. It looks sad. I'd probably cry at it. Quote:
