pedro almodovar appreciation thread

does anyone else know of this spanish director?

i'm not very big on films (short attention span

), but i could watch anything of his several times over.

i got his box set for my birthday. i had already seen la mala educacion. and now i've watched atame! and live flesh. so i have all about my mother and talk to her left to go.

any more recommendations?

The oddest thing happened to me in France. An ex buddhist nun from chille came up to me and told me I look so much like him I could be his son. Go figure.

"Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown"

It's soooo good, really cheesy and funny. Antonio Banderas is in it, it's great!! We did for our Higher Spanish in sixth year i loved it, our class also went to see "Talk To Her" at the DCA, that's a great film too, i've been looking for it all over, i found it in Fopp but it was £20 and i ain't paying that.

But anyway, yeah i love Pedro Almodovar's films, i thing he's amazing!!

His films are amazing, I bought his box set on a whim, best dvds I have ever purchased. Bad Education and All About My Mother are my favourites. Flesh was pish in my opinion. The advert made it out to be this awesome action movie and it was just a boring film. Talk To Her is good but get quite fucked up at the end. Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down is hilarious, you can't beat Antonio Banderas, it's the ultimate stockholm syndrome film.

i never saw any advert for it, so i didn't know what to expect. and in any case i don't like action films much

but it was a little predictable. i still really like it though.

I hate the part when the shrunken guy enters his wife's vag!!! I had to sit next to my Spanidh teacher at the cinema, and when that part came on i was sooooo embaressed, but she was just laughing away to herself!!!

that's bit freaks me out more than the fact the nurse has sex with a girl in a coma and gets her pregnant.

the guy is just kinda creepy at first but in a friendly way, i thought he'd at least wait til she's awake before he raped her
