Silent Hill

i seen this for first time last night.
tis a very odd but good film.

i'm not familiar with the games(i was more resident evil player when silent hill came out on PS) so i dunno how the two coincide with characters etc.
but i found some of the 'evil' things quite cool

im not familiar with the games either, again im more a resident evil fan
but i found the film truely awful, it seemed to skip from theme to theme rather quickly, without any of the evil being defeated. it just seemed to have a very thin storyline with out any real great acting performances.

i was very let down by the film. (not as much as Alone In The Dark mind)

I'm a HUGE fan of the series and was pretty let down by the film - it just wasn't scary. Rhada Mitchell did a pretty good job as Rose but even the mighty Sean Bean wasn't exactly on top form and his American accent stunk.

They captured the look and atmosphere of the games perfectly but the underlying horror wasn't there. I liked it better the 2nd time I watched it though but yeah, not that great.

yeah, theif 3 was great, and it was 2004 or something so the graphics were pretty good. That level was the creepiest level in any game ever imo.

Hmmm...ace game and scary much...but the scariest game for me would have to be many many years ago...the first time i played a Marine in Alien Vs Predator...that scared me shitless.

Alone in the Dark was abysmal...havnt seen the Silent Hill movie yet...hope its better than the Shenanigans that were the Resident Evil movies...

Film was mediocre. I nearly puked at the cop burning bit.
I like Silent Hill 2 the game. Although Im a bit weird with playing it at night time/when the living room door is open/when its foggy heh.

I fancy playing number 4 soon.

It was hilarious maybe about two thirds through when they suddenly whipped out the guns and jumped around to a nu-metal soundtrack. Did Uwe Boll actually play the fucking game? I've heard he's been announced as the director for Far Cry (!??!?!). What a joke.

I'm a big fan of the Silent Hill games, but I've yet to check this out. Silent Hill 4 was a bit of a letdown (trawling through a third of the game again was completely exasperating). Silent Hill 2 is absolutely top.

noooooooooo!!! FarCry as a film could have some potential (Lost...but with more Guns)but the director is awful! Every single bloody action scene in 'Alone in the Dark' is slowed down to look all arty but comes across as lame.
