Pan's Labyrinth
The best film I've seen this year, certainly one of the best to be released in the past few years.
Brilliant acted and completely brutal in its depiction of Spain just after the Civil War period. It's visual allegory on top form, using a fantasy world to mirror the harshness that the lead character faces in post-Spanish Civil War. Plus, the thing in the dungeon is fucking terrifying! To summarise, it gave me a total pinger. Go see it, it deserves your attention and money. |

Ofelia did not deserve that
Ace film, and I too was terrified of the white demon with eyes in its hands... But why didn't she listen?! And that scene where the captain was sewing up his wound made me squirm... |
