Just saw this last night and i was very impressed.
Good use of the extra budget without anything looking too glossy and over the top. Robert Carlyle = one creepy fucking zombie. That bit with the helicopter (rest of the cinema screaming - me pishing myself laughing). Dawn of the Dead-ish satire. All in all a big thumbs up. next movie "Le 28 Months Later" ? |

I went to see this on saturday night, all I can say is that it was pretty fucking awesome. The bit during the chopper scene *if you've seen it, you'll know what I'm talking about* was top notch and the special effects blew me away

I really, really enjoyed this, but:
And yeah, the chopper scene is fucking amazing! Loved the visuals, especially the aerial views of empty London which (if I remember right) weren't really used in the first one, or certainly not on that scale. An example of a good sequel. I actually love the way zombies are portrayed in modern films; horrible, blood spewing things that just chase people. The Romero films (while really nostalgic and excellent viewing) look really, really dated now; loads of people in green makeup pulling silly faces and stumbling around like drunks outside your local.
