James Newton Howard delivers again with an exceptional soundtrack (co-worked with Hans Zimmer) but Newton Howard remains an absolutely inspiration to me as a film score composer. Batman Begins was pretty fantastic, but this one is amazingly edgy, and outdoes some of his older work on films like Unbreakable.

The more I think about this, the more I believe that (if Nolan delivers with #3... I can't see where he'd go wrong) this will compete with Lord Of The Rings as the (2nd) most important movie trilogy ever (lets just leave Star Wars out of this). I can't see these films aging badly at all.

I heard that Eckhart has said he'd "love" to be in a third one too, so that could prove interesting, especially considering the ending.

Really hope Nolan and the rest of the main cast follow Bale and get on board!

I think they should have Jake Gyllenolinolinolinol (sp?) play a part in the next Batman film, as a character called 'The Red Hood' (dressed appropriately) who's like a petty criminal that gets busted fairly early on in the film, working as a henchman for whoever is the next films main baddy.
The in the film after have him come back as like a second Joker.
It kind of fits in with one of the continuities of the comics, if wikipedia could be believed.

It'd be good as a marketing point because Jake was a friend of Heath Ledgers (see Brokeback Mountain)

Then they could maybe do a series of short films with DC and have Spiderman go against Joker II, because I think Toby McGuire and Jake Gynenface have some real life beef, that'd sell massive too as well as the film before. And they did crossover comics, with proper storylines...I think.

Also, Batman v The Green Goblin (BATTLE OF THE GADGETS) would be awesome.
