I'm really excited about this. I'm a huge fan of the Indiana Jones films!

Apparently Ford still insisted on doing as many of his stunts as they would allow him to do. He was notorious for that in the other films. I'd imagine at his age the stunts aren't going to be death defying, but he's obviously still putting in the effort!

This looks awesome! The trailer's great.

The title is cheesy, but so is every other Indiana Jones title - come on, The Temple of Doom anyone? Don't understand why everyone's getting in such an uproar about it.

its probably because it's a bit more of a mouthfull than the other titles. Which I have to admit were more snappy.

But anyway, bugger the title, the film/story is what we're paying to see...and I don't think we'll be let down!

Saw the trailer when i went to see Iron Man. Looks exciting and Harrison doesn't look too geriatric when the films moving (too much going on to notice his wrinkles i suppose).

Who else just finished watching "Raiders..." on BBC1?

rubytuesday is an unknown quantity at this point
Anyone seen this yet? Any good? Apparently there's been both good and bad reviews but I'm avoiding them until I've seen it.

I just got back from watching it, I'm not totally bought over yet. I'm still debating in my own mind what I think about it. Disappointed in the ending though, that's for sure.

the ending wasnt up to the rest of the film, but it was a lot better than the star wars films.

Fucking aliens??? ALIENS! In Indiana Jones! WTF? Here are some other things that made me sad:

The iron filings flying through the warehouse to the crate at the start. Ridiculous.

Not even indy would survive a direct hit from a nuclear bomb - fridge or no fridge

Snake rescue from quick sand.

At the start, it was so cheesy, i thought that it was going to turn out that they were filming a movie about his life - so it was deliberately over the top. I was quite sad when i realised that no, it was just the actual movie.

I SO wanted this to be a good movie.

Ross, a few of my friends had the same main gripe you did. They just didn't think that was anything like what an Indiana Jones theme should be. But I totally disagree. Indiana Jones has always has a hint of paranormal goings on and it has never been a franchise that prioritized plausibility over fun.

The originals were made as an homage to the B-Movies of the 1930s and this one (now based in the 1950s) is made with lots of influences from the B-Movies of that era. ie. lots of sci-fi themes, the red mennace etc. So in that respect, it's definitely consistent with the preceeding 3 films.

Oh yeah and I should probably add that I liked it.....but can see why some people would be distinctly underwhelmed by it if they were perhaps expecting something different.

So many films get hyped up to a point where it's hard not to feel let down by the final product.
