Favourite modern actor
In terms of movies from the last 10-15 years, who's your favourite actor?
I'd have to say either Edward Norton (American History X, 25th Hour, Fight Club, The People vs. Larry Flynt) or Denzil Washington (The Hurricane, Training Day, John Q) Or perhaps Christian Bale (The Machinist, Batman Begins, American Psycho) Those films are the ones I think they're best in, that I've seen. I also think Jim Carrey is brilliant in The Truman Show, Man On The Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I think he's kind of under-rated in the way people think he's an annoying cunt. Johnny Depp is also fantastic in most things he does, but I generally think his parts are written really well. Thoughts? Last edited by Johnny5 : 17th December 2007 at 01:49 PM. |

I agree with much of the above.
I'd like to add Christian Bale. I like it when actors really dedicate themselves to their roles - if anyone's seen The Machinist then they'll know what I'm talking about. Edit: Pointless post because he's already in Johnny's post. |

Haha, ahh never mind.
I really like Naomi Watts as well. As well as being a veritable feast of eye-candy, she's a really dynamic actress that seems to be perfectly cast no matter what she's in. See: Mulholland Drive, I Heart Huckabees, 21 Grams, even King Kong! |

I wish Kate Winslet was amazing in everything I've seen her in, but as it is, I'll just have to be in love with her. I'm not sure if this is because I saw her tit in Titanic when I was 12.
Naomi Watts is brilliant though, I agree. I think Natalie Portman is also ace, Star Wars aside. |

Brad Pitt.
Fight Club Interview With the Vampire Se7en Twelve Monkeys And when you add to these the many other enjoyable (but not as critically aclaimed) films roles he's had, you have the reason why he's my favourite actor. |

Jean Reno is my favourite actor pretty much, along with Pacino and Eric Bana. Bana was amazing in Black Hawk Down and Munich.
