I wasn't that impressed with it to be honest! It just didn't strike a chord with me, and came off as a wee bit precious. George Michael was awesome of course, though.

Was totally hoping that Tony Gilroy would win best screenplay oscar for Michael Clayton. There was a film that lived or died by how well it was written, and I thought they pulled it off amazingly

I went to see it at the weekend and was a bit underwhelmed. Juno herself was a really aggravating character (the "I'm so different and no-one understands me" thing was tedious) but Michael Cera was great, albeit very George Michael-ish.

Being 30-something, stuck in an early to mid 90s musical rut and not wanting children myself, I was a bit put out that Jason Bateman was made out to be a bit of a jerk for exactly that!

PS Derailing the thread a little more, I just noticed this on IMDb when I was looking to see if I really *had* seen Kitty Sanchez in a trailer before Juno ...

Yeah the big problem was that Juno and Ellen Page's performace was really unlikeable for much of the film, and not all that witty. Daniel Clowes nailed that kind of dynamic far better in Ghost World (The comic anyway, my memory of the film is a tad hazy)

i thought it was going to be more 'laugh out loud'
instead it was 'snigger in my head'

still decent enough though.
