So anyone like the shining? One of my fav movies ever. Not seen the TV movie of it for ages. may buy it, anyone seen it recently, is it any good? Did you understand everything in it? like the end?

i have it on dvd... excellent film like, but as far as the actual story goes, the ending is shit... the original stephen king ending was far better...

I've seen syanley kubric's film version of the shining and i think it's amazing!

One of my faves. Jack nicholson is the man.

So what happens at the end in stephens king's version? by the way, is this book or the other film version that they made cos stephen king didn't like stanley kubric's?

Jack nicholson was soooo good in The Shining. It's a fantastic film although i'm bloody petrified every time i watch it!

The film is weird.., anyone help me on this? It is fucking amazing none-the-less.

Right, the kid has the shining (as does the black guy) this means he can see 'past events', ie. the breakdown of the janitor years before Jack Nickolson's reign.

Nothing too freaky, just flashbacks of a REAL event. People have this, if you believe in telepathy and the like.

Jack Nickolson has a breakdown due to being in an isolated part of snowy colorado, he was warned of this and yet he goes nuts. Thid happens to people in isolated conditiond for prolonged periods.

Nothing too freaky, he just goes mad.

These are the two main parts of the film... the kid has the shining and Jack goes loopy.

What makes me think about the films in far greater depth is when Jack's wife and kid lock him in the Cooler for their own safety and later on he escapes due to an 'unknown entity' unlocking the cooler door.

This is what really makes the mind think!!

The kid is having flashbacks of events that happened years ago, and Jack is just going 'Stir Crazy', but who unlocks the Cooler door???

This is what makes The Shining so amazing? Your left thinking, What The Fuck???? all the way thru after this part

The hotel is fucked up it has its own eveil presence. I dont wanna give to much away you should really read the book its fucking great but theres loads of shit stuff that happens in the hotle over the years like gangster hits and suicides and aldutry and shit and when people die on account of the hotels whatsit they jon the hotel konda like ghost world thing. Because the boy shinin is so powerful the hotel rally wants him, so he has to die or be killed so the hotel can take the boys powers.

Seein as jacks mind sucks and he's already half fucked up its easy for the hotel to get through to him and control him. So when you see ma man jack in the bar with all the dancers and shit thats part of the past life of the hotel likew the bar man and shit. Theres shit like that all the way through the book. (the elevators some scary ass shit)

anyways when he gets locked in the hotel lets him out cos he needs him. go read the book now its scarier than the film.

check Eck with the knowledge. He da man.
