alt ending on 28 days later?!

apparently the DVD released in the UK has the alternative ending on it, but i cant find it! has anyone else seen it? apparently its so dark and disturbing it will leave you haunted for days, according to American critics.

The only alternative I saw on the DVD was almost identical to the real one except the guy didn't survive and it's just the woman and the girl.

hmmm, i havent seen that ending, that must be it then, but the american press are saying that the ending cost millions to produce for some reason, it must be good.

I just looked at the back of my DVD and is says the following....

'Radical story board alternative ending'

Now, that suggests to me that it isnt actually included in the film as a scene, rather its an idea that wasnt implemented, but in the American DVD, the scene is created and filmed. Now thats just plain annoying.

This version does however has 8 deleted scenes included.

I thought the standard ending (the one that was used) was a loada shite, the guy being killed sounds like it wouldve been a better ending to use.

There are like four endings on the uk dvd. well, five... ish. you'll see

The film was originally going to end when they hit the gate, but someone somewhere along the line thought it was too abrupt

Then there's the one where jim dies and serena and hannah are shown walking away. There are two versions of this film, one is jim hallucinating while selena fights to save his life, and the other is just selena trying to save jim. The latter, incidentally, is fucking heart-wrenching. These versions were supposed to be "happy" endings, sort of. Selena was right all along, "if you think like that you're gonna end up dead", while the two strong lead characters survived. But they decided the film was too draining, and it needed a happy ending, so...

Then there's the original ending, where Farrell and Jim were right all along. Only britain was infected, and it was quarrantined. But the other countries send planes across to find any survivors. They find jim, selena and hannah, and everyone is happy. This was the most expensive scene to shoot, because the plane came from norway or something silly like that, at great expense.

The final ending, is the same as before, but with a chicken. Don't ask why, because I don't know.

I really really like 28 days later....

The alternate ending on the dvd is the one where Jim dies...but I think they also have the hallucinating (excuse my spelling) scene in the extra scene part. I love that film I think its fantastic...and the plane did cost a ton, but it was from somewhere is Britain....it was just the fuel I think that cost so much...

i read somewhere that if you sit through the end credits then the alternate ending comes on, but i've not checked to see if it works yet.
