Arbroath v Rangers
Kick off 1900
Adults £6 Kids £2 Rangers prepare for Celtic on the 29th by playing Arbroath at Gayfield tonight. I imagine this is because they have looked pooped out in each league game which follows a midweek Champions League tie. Walter Smith has denied this is the case but it seems to be evident when you watch these matches. Arbroath Football Club Anyone going? lol I'll be heading along. Hospitality tickets slod out on Wednesday but a prematch curry, 2 free drinks and a post match bowl of stovies is worth £20 like! hahaha. *edit* Reading the Arbroath FC website, it loks like Arbroath have initiated the fixture. ??? |

It's most likely to be a second (or even third) string Gers team, most of the Scottish players are on international duty this weekend. There's nothing on the Rangers website about it so I'm guessing there will be only one or two, if any, first team players involved.

I figured that there would be a few reserve players in there. The ones who have only had one or two games. Andy Webster, Alan Gow, Kirk Broadfoot, Thomas Buffel etc are a few of the names I'd quite like to see there tonight.

Unfortunately you were right. Rangers won 4-1. First two goals were similar, working the left wing and cutting it inside. Arbroath then got a goal back. Rangers 3rd was a penalty and the 4th was a free kick from 20/25 years and it was a peach!
Aye, it was a squad made up of the young lads, young reserve players and u19's. Gave Arbroath a good run-around though. |
