Gretna to set new SPL record...

for possibly being the worst team in SPL history? 5 points after 15 games, its humiliation for the old men of Gretna. Looks like Brooks Mileson's SPL dream is going to come to a premature end. Shame really. I class Gretna in the same league as Livingston... teams that exist but shouldn't really. Harsh but fair.

I agree.

Saints would have been well clear of the bottom (top 6 perhaps) if we'd been promoted.

Can't wait to play them next season when they have to sell all their players to save some money :-)

Fewest goals in a season: St Johnstone, 24 goals, 2001/02

Fewest points in a season: Livingston, 18 points, 2005/06

Gretna have 5 points (in 23 games, id expect them to maybe be close to Livingston's record) and 10 goals.

obviously not, if they are good enough that they would be in the top 6 of the premier they are obviously going to win the first division by a clear margin

The first division is a really hard league though, anyone can take points off anyone else and it's always at least a 3 horse race for promotion. Gretna are just gonna be another team that'll bounce around the top 2 divisions and make it harder for the likes of St. Johnstone, Dunfermline, Dundee, Falkirk, Livingston etc etc. Pointless.

Yes but as a result of not getting into the SPL we lost two great players, Jason Scotland and Simon Mensing (who scored 2 goals for Hamilton incidentally)

I still think the SPL should have more teams, it would make it a more competitive league and there would be more local derbys etc...

But of course the only derby that matters in Scottish football in the Old Firm one aka cash Generator derby.

Ironically we got Jason Scotland off Dundee Utd after he was deemed not good enough for SPL football.
I miss derby day, it all went to fuck when TV started dictating when games should be played.

Also, correct me if i'm wrong but i think if you total up the number of points Saints would've taken from SPL teams last season if their cup games had counted towards the league they would've finished above Dunfermline.
