FIFA World Player of the Year
Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Lionel Messi.

I really want to say Ronaldo will win it but something tells me that Messi will come out on top in this one. From what I've seen of Messi he is phenomenal and it's going to be really tight between himself and Ronaldo.

Ronaldo managed to bag two more goals tonight against Fulham. Looks like he's on target to match last seasons goal tally.

Hmm I read somewhere that Kaka has the photo shoot booked :-/

Be nice to see Ronaldo get it - first time a player who plays in the UK wins it I believe.

Kaka won some magazine's world footballer of the year, like the football writers, dont think its the same thing? but he won it by quite some distance. strange considering how poor his form has been for Milan this year (yet to win a home league game)

Kaka's won and Ronaldo is 2nd. Heard a commentator mention it last night.
but doesn't seem to have phased him given his work rate last night

I dislike Kaka. Why does someone of his skill and ability have to play like the italians do. He's a dirty unsportsmanly player who just so happens to also be a brilliant footballer. same with Ronaldinho though. I guess some would argue that the fact they have implemented such things as simulation into their game proves how good they are.

Ronaldo is getting better every day. Next season he's going to be phenomenal I reckon. Fergie's also been saying Ronaldo is staying on his feet a lot more too... if he cuts out the diving he'd be second to none.

i think i read an article where kaka hits it on the head, he scored 10 champions league goals and was in the team that won the final. that's more than likely why he got the award.

i'm not a fan though.

kaka is awesome.

watching him be pish (by his standards) the entire game and still effortlessly lollop past the celtic defence at the end yesterday was an absolute joy.

exactly, the fact that he has to lower himself by play acting and simulation is pretty shocking when you see how good a player he really is.

i don't like the word "simulation" in football. it just reminds me about simulating a sex act.

he's been improving from the moment he arrived back in 2003.

Such an amazing buy! I remember when him and RVN had their wee "fall out" everyone was saying "sell Ronaldo" ... so glad Fergie didn't listen! We may have lost a top goal poacher but gained someone who will go down in UTD history
