Well, I couldn't repeat my routine from '94 as I live in a different city and that top doesn't fit any more, but 'mon the Arabs, let's not make an arse of it. And let's hope my car doesn't break down on the way to Hampden.

I pure shat my pants a few times today. My arsehole was puckering throughout the whole of extra time.
Dundee United deserved to win as they controlled the majority of the 90 mins standard time as well as the majority of extra time but two lapses of concentration cost them the cup. Allan McGregor is a beast though! He won us the cup. I agree with Willo Flood being given MOTM. Finally, the United supporters were much better than the Rangers fans. I'm a bit glad I was with a bunch of fans who actually looked like they wanted to win, whereas the Rangers support sat on their arses until Boyd made it 1-1. It was frustrating not being able to look happy and relieved as fuck when that final penalty slotted home! Still, thats put us in good stead for the last third. |

I was at the match today and despite not winning, the game was by no means a defeat. United were excellent and Rangers were practically chasing them the whole first half. Fairly heart breaking in the end as, in my opinion, we deserved to lift the cup. What was really frustrating was the opinion of some Rangers fans that I know, including family, who seen it as an easy game. Hopefully they can stop deluding themselves that there is no competition from other SPL teams I dont know if it's arrogance or sheer stupidity.
Gutted about that ungiven penalty, I've never seen such a blatant push in a game of football. Referee has a lot to answer for on this as I feel it would have closed the game for us and the end result would have been different. The fans were incredible as well, even when we conceded a goal we backed United 100%. Although I am biased as I dislike the old firm, it seemed to me like the only time Rangers fans were on their feet was to shout abuse across at United fans. Also, the number of St.George cross flags and Ulster flags etc I feel has no place in football. I seen a United guy getting chucked out because he put a Celtic top on, obviously just to annoy Rangers fans but surely these flags should be treated in the same manner. Overall though, the match was dramatic and although Im disappointed I'm looking forward to what United have to offer now. Last edited by Schmurgle : 16th March 2008 at 10:58 PM. Reason: typo |

It is a basic political statement but I agree that a football match is probably not the best place to make it! I think United deserved to win and I am a Rangers fan. I would also like to add that I'd prefer if there was much more competition from outside the Old Firm as it makes the games more interesting and it improves the game and how people see it. Also, it is much better to be top of a competitive league. hahaha
The Rangers fans usually only rose to counter United abuse and when Boyd scored but I was only looking at the fans in the closest end of the North stand so it may have been different elsewhere. Push? The sun may have blinded me and I may not have seen it but I don't remember it? |

I was in the east stand and it happened in the corner of the box, in the 2nd half Kalvanes managed to get a touch on the ball whilst in a tangle with Cuellar, as the ball went away from him and Kalvanes was going for it Cuellar just pushed him with both hands whilst inside the box. I was a fairly quick shove like but dodgy as it was in the penalty box and in my opinion should have been awarded I think maybe because Kalvanes never feel to the ground it wasnt so obvious but the thing was he didnt actually have the ball so the push must have been deliberate obstruction of him getting it again. Will no doubt be replayed and i'll take another look but thats my opinion on it from seeing it today.

Hmmm I was in F2.
53rd minute. Minute by minute report in the guardian claims it was a penalty, as did (obviously) every United fan that saw it. Dundee United 2-2 Rangers<br>(aet; Rangers win 3-2 on pens) | News | guardian.co.uk Football Last edited by Schmurgle : 16th March 2008 at 11:29 PM. |

Although it was really heartbreaking to lose it on penalties after such a good performance I have to say I had a great day out. It was a fantastic atmosphere in the United end and they players gave it everything they had.
I was disappointed to see the red hand of Ulster flags and the such though, you shouldn't be allowed into grounds with them, they could easily have been replaced with Rangers flags. Fuck the Huns is about right. |

that was a stonewall penalty, i think the only reason it wasn't given was it was a last man challenge so he would have had to send him off as well but the ref just didn't have the balls to do it
prick the rangers fans were a bunch of dickheads as well, only time they got off their arsed was when they scored and when they lifted the cup because they were shite in the game. there's no need for the flags either, bunch of fucking muppets as you can tell i hate rangers fans i was sitting in F7, did anybody else leave from the taxi driver's place in dundee? |

nobody else think broadfoot deserved a red for going in with the studs up on kalvenes? surprised thats not been mentioned.
also de vries through on broadfoot and it was broadfoot trying to hold de vries back but broadfoot gets a free kick! granted the ref evened it up a minute later with a decision on a foul going the other way(can't remember on which player). i hope rangers fans are embarrassed by their teams performance! i reckon they'd be lost without Cuellar, appart from the blatant penalty he had an excellent game. and lastly i fucking hate kirk broadfoot!!! total prick! bloody embarrassment with the dives he was making against werder bremen too! |
