I don't get the hun thing? where does it come from? why? Is it a religious/protestant thing or is it just calling Rangers fans huns because they are "the enemy" like Germany were called the huns?

it is a slightly more localised adaptation of the German phrase
"Huns Out" was an Irish republican slogan calling for an end to the British army in Ulster; hence, a general term for Northern Ireland Unionists, Protestants, or British people in general, etc. hence, the term hun is pretty stupid coming from anyone who isnt from the Republic or is a bigot ![]() |

I dont support either teams in the old firm but i recognise that the £120 odd million or so they bring to the Scottish game is pretty important. I try and support my home team...but when they are as bad as Stirling Albion...haha.

Also i know someone who was born and brought up in the shadow of Ibrox, yet supports Hibs. Where is the rule you have to support the team your born/live nearest? |

Fair enough you were born near Glasgow, I can't have a complaint there, but there are hundreds of Celtic and Rangers fans in Dundee alone when there are 2 local teams to support, glory hunting bastards can't get right to fuck. |

Its fun to support the undergog i reckon. I dont really understand the glory hunting mentality some (note: some, by no means all) fans of the biggest teams have. Im an Everton fan (half my family are from Liverpool) and despite them being the lesser side of the Merseyside Derby its been an exciting season...hope the last 3 games are wins though coz after doing so well they have yet to get a decnt win after loosing to Fiorentina. I support both Old Firm teams when they are in Europe however...well, in fairness i support any Scottish team in Europe, was impressed by Aberdeen i must admit. |

When i lived in York i went to York games, simply because Ibrox is a little far for a round trip!
Some people born away from their chosen club may pick it due to family ties, or for another reason, its not quite as simple as assuming they glory hunt. Plus there were plenty of Celtic fans about outside Glasgow during their barron spell a few years back when Rangers were dominant. I understand your point however but there are a lot more exceptions to the rule. |
