have a look at the league table, United will finish anywhere from 4th to 6th, so a win is pretty important to them! (unless Hibs win by more goals against Motherwell of course)

4 Dundee Utd 37 7 52
5 Hibernian 37 6 52
6 Aberdeen 37 -10 50

When was the last time United finished top 6 two seasons in a row? Isnt a good season usually followed by a poor one?

Also when was the last time this good side finished third? it must be a good ten years now?

Im not basing that on league positions I'm basing it on the football I have watched them play this season, they have been exceptionally better than previous seasons and I believe in Craig Levein to extend this further next season. It's an observation from this season having been to the majority of home matches and a few away, we are by no means perfect however I feel we can play excellent football and am looking forward to what they are going to look like 08/09.

Is there anything I can say that you will agree with?

All of this is completely meaningless if you have a decent enough side. Saying a good season is followed by a poor one is bordering superstition in my book. I base it on the season we have had, manager, and unfortunatley money. Despite lacking in the latter Levein has proved that he can sign players for 20 fags and a fish supper and these players are now a vital part of our squad. (Gomis is a good example of this).

i will agree with you on this, Levein is the best manager they have had for a LONG time, i think the loss of a few players in the summer have to be balanced with good signings otherwise it'll be a bad season next year which is generally the United way (from an outsiders perspective i may add)

If its excellent football your after, id argue Falkirk are the best footballing side in the division, followed by Hibs.

just for the record, i dont want united to lose. i just dont want rangers to win the league, so ideally - Rangers beat St mirren tonight and get within a baw hair of celtics goal difference. United beat Celtic and Aberdeen beat Rangers. Celtic win the league by one goal. that would be the best possible outcome ever, and would also be funny as fuck!! thats the sweetest finish you can ask for like.

I can appreciate that Baz. It would such a fucking kick in the balls if Celtic won the league by 1 goal.

Ultimately it would be a victory for football fans in general (for the excitement) and the media (that'll sell shit loads of papers!).

It'd have to be some win by United for that!

felt Rangers could have had a few more tonight, but they looked pretty fucked by the end of it.

We will NEVER win a shootout like we did in the Dunfermline game, the team just dont have it in them, they looked totally fucked in the last 10minutes.

IF Levein did tell United to ease up, it'd be pretty hypocritical, he moans about integrity of referee's so he really should put out a decent side, plus fourth place is up for grabs which means they have prize money to play for, which could be the difference between having a player on the bench or having to use a kid (his words, no mine)

Still, Rangers have themselves to blame, we SHOULD have tied the league up by now, looking at the games we've drawn we should be clear.

it makes me wonder if walter smith will revert to a 4-4-2 as his main formation, but sinse his days managing everton it generally has been 4-5-1 i really hope we dont resign kenny miller, he works hard but his finishing is not up to par

Aberdeen v Rangers. Rangers definitely have their work cut out for them with that like. Last game of the season and I can see Aberdeen going all out for a win over Rangers. I think Celtic have the easier game but it would be good to see both Aberdeen and United playing with some integrity and make both opponents work had for their wins.

IF both games turn into heavy defeats for the home teams again, its gunna make the SPL look even more mickey mouse.

I think the games have the potential to be really good. Can't see either side making it easy for Rangers and Celtic. There's a higher league spot and a lot of pride to play for. Also I don't think any teams wants the league being won on their own patch so I think both Utd and Aberdeen will be fired up for it, should be good.

I think Rangers will probably end up drawing 2-2 and Celtic winning pretty comfortably.

I hope for different mind
