Thanks for the links guys. Ridiculous bias in the refereeing, as I've heard. However, you have to appreciate the irony in that had the refereeing been tight, Weir would have been sent off and would not have been able to deflect a (disallowed) goal in for United. Pretty poor stuff though.

Said it before, I'll say it again; Levein is an absolute champion of a man.

haha awesome point that hadnt been brought up before!

Penalites are a pretty unfair way to end a game, as if you stuck an average oe between the sticks, and got say Ronaldo to take penalties at them, he wouldnt have a 100% scoring rate after say 100 attempts.

It is part skill, part luck.

I get the impression that even next season United fans will still be bringing up the cup final. Its over, not matter how "robbed" you were, if you'd scored a second goal in before Mark Kerr (clearly also paid off by Rangers) decided to give Boyd a goal, any ungiven penalties would be a moot point.

just been sent this from a Hearts fan

Hearts - Levein Berates Gordon Smith

Mr Levien himself "I'm not accepting him bracketing us in amongst people accusing referees to be biased"

just over two months ago this, your right, absolute champion of a man.

also, has form at calling referee's cheats - BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Heart of Midlothian | Hearts settle SFA dispute

BTW : just to clarify, i agree the referee was shite yesterday, referee's have bad games and think we should have pro referee's in Scotland now.

**EDIT**

Just sent this little gem, so wanted to pass it on

Dundee Utd Vs St Mirren last season -

Craig Levein, the United manager, said later that Hunt had protested his innocence.

"It's a massive call by the linesman, who is 40 yards away, " he said. "I played a long time and if somebody stamped or kicked me I'm not going to be shaking hands with him, that's for sure." Unfortunately for Levein, it transpired that he had been hung out to dry by his player.

Broadfoot's version was different. "I shook his hand because he apologised for kicking me in the face and I just wanted to get on with the game, " he reported.

- considering you cant really tell from the grainy zoomed footage, it appears however Broadfoot was looking the other way when Hunt ran into his arm. Interesting Hunt refused to say anything in regards to the incident.

also, didnt McCurry fail to send off a Falkirk player, and chop off one of their goals (wrongly) against Aberdeen in January?

and why has no one yet mentioned the linesman, who flagged for offside, and didnt flag for the penalty?

and can a United fan also say, how when Darcheville was flagged offside (wrongly) at the end of the 3-3 draw at Tannadice, that no big decisions go your way?

what about after the United St Mirren game when after the referee gave numerous dodgy decisions United's way, St Mirren's boss complained against the referee, only for Levein to wade in saying it was "unfair" to speak about him in that way.

seriously, take the blinkers off.

The ref had a bad game - YES
The linesman made the same calls as the referee - YES
Dundee Utd cant win away against a top six side - YES
Motherwell deserve Europe - YES
United lost the Cup because they cant boot a ball into a stand - YES
United threw away Europe because throughout the season, they havent beaten sides they should have done - YES

feel free to discuss

oh, and have you heard any Rangers fans saying the ref was a cheat in the Old Firm game where he didnt give Rangers a penalty and gave Celtic an offisde goal?

He even kept Broadfoot on, which some Gers will say is worse than sending him off.

credit to Lee Wilkie, in regards to the offisde goal

"The referee started off by saying it had hit Robertson and gone in, then the linesman changed it and said it was because Robertson was in the vision of the goalkeeper"

and regards to the referee's performance

"Some players go out in front of 40,000 and they don't perform, they fold under the pressure and it's got to be the same with referees. I don't know if you'd say they were doing that on purpose but that's the way it looks."

id have to say, i have sympathy with him, he comes out looking like a class professional. unlike some "fucking retarded" united fans

He's making it public that he never sent a letter of complaint as was suggested. Levein is basing this bias on what happened in the cup final and what happened on saturday. Factoring in the fact that it's Mike McCurry who is fatal for shock decisions and numerous other issues which have been discussed he has every right to speak his mind.

As for the other questions, its already been covered.
I suggest you take your blinkers off and try and look at it from a neutral perspective. I assume it must be easy to scoff at hard done by fans when you support a club which due to its sheer size can intimidate and manipulate results to their favour.

The 3-3 game was refeered fairly imo, Broadfoot was caught offside however a free kick was given which wasnt a free kick and Rangers scored from this. There was a dodgy decision or two either way, this wasnt the case on saturday.

I'd like to point out that Levein just calls a spade a spade; as he did when Christian Kalvanes got sent off against Killie earlier in the season. Just proud that despite the sacred cow mantle given to our crooked/ plain useless scottish referees, he isn't afraid to say if there's been a bad decision (or 100) made.

You seem to believe it's just United fans are the only ones with some kind of chip on our shoulder; not the case. Ask any fan in scotland which teams they hate more than any other, and it's the old firm. Not even because they win, but because they win regardless of what they actually do on the park and whether they have earned the win (in any sort of way) or not. The difference in footballing standard between the old firm and most of the rest of the clubs is minimal (which it shouldn't be, what with the amount of ££££ the Glasgow clubs have), but we're still facing an impossible task when it comes to getting near the big two. Fucking desperate stuff; if I were Levein (or Mark McGhee, or Mixu P, or Jimmy C for that matter), I'd be tearing my hair out too.
