Rangers will be hoping that playing Russian opposition is a good omen, their 3-2 victory in Barcelona having been achieved against Dinamo Moscow.

The parallels with that previous success do not stop there.

Willie Waddell's team beat Sporting Lisbon on their way to the final, built their success on high work-rate and a strong defence and they were accused of playing "anti-football" - in their case by the coach of Rennes.

I would really like to see rangers win this...truthfuly i cant see it happening...but hey. Do you think that Smith will stick to his defensive tactics that have served Rangers so well so far? The 'Little General' will have had pleanty of time to prepare his team for that approach.

i think Rangers will play the same formation as always, especially when Zenit are missing their star striker.

I fancy Novo to score, but think Rangers will go down 3-1 if im honest. Zenit have a good creative element none of Rangers previous opponents really had.

If Rangers win the UEFA Cup, wouldnt there be an extra UEFA Cup spot for the SPL? therefore surely Aberdonians, Hibees and Arabs should be desperate for Rangers to win?!

Gutted I didnt get a ticket in the ballots I was in but them the breaks as they say...

Shall be watching at home with the family. Win or lose I am just delighted we got there.

In saying that, I think we will win. Zenit are a decent outfit who have beaten some good teams...so have we however.

People seem to be forgetting that. No matter the style of football, we have stifled many a team this year and I can see us doing the same again and nicking a goal.

Penalties if need be.
