Celtic legend and first team coach Tommy Burns passed away this morning after battling against cancer.

Rest in peace, YNWA.

he had cancer once and recovered, it wasnt long ago he was re-diagnosed.

My over-riding memory of him is when he lobbed Andy Rhodes at McDiarmid park while playing for Killie and the ball bounced about a nanometre over the bar while he was turning away to celebrate

jeez , thats a shock, i knew he had skin cancer but i thought he was treated and given the all clear, he seemed like a decent bloke, a sad loss

Total gentleman. Not a bad word as ever been said about him and he always conducted himself with dignity no matter what was going on around him.

A man that loved his club and you can task any more than that.

Terrible news, Burns was a legend for Celtic and as mentioned above, did great work for the national team. Such a shame.

The man transcends rivalry

Watching Strachan today was horrible, brilliant comments from him.

Looks gutted, he was crying at the press conference, never seen him like that.
He said being manager of Celtic has been fantastic but the greatest thing about him coming to Celtic was becoming Tommy Burns' friend.

Sad to hear about his wife and two kids, and the fact he was making sure they'd be OK in his last few hours, regardless of anything else..

aiden mcgeadie's (sp) tribute at parkhead was fitting, did great things wherever he was and as said in the last post about his family just goes to show what kind of man he was and how he'll be remembered
