Travelogue
Entry #1
Ok guys here are my travelling tales. Today I leave for Sweden. I will hopefully arrive in Stockholm at 21:40 local time. I don't know where I will be staying yet as the guy from the Green Party in Stockholm who said I could stay in their office seems not to have made it back from Romania yet. Hmmm. Oh well. EXTREMELY cheap hostel it is then. Tomorrow I will check out Stockholm and then plan my next move which I think will be a hitchhike north. Keep checking for more tales of the lonely traveller. P.S. Bonus points for first answer the following question.... Who's seminal album "Travelogue" featured the classic "Being Boiled"?

OK I'm in Stockholm now and it's amazing. Beautiful city, beautiful people - hope some of it rubs off. My Swedish mate Linus just phoned me to tell me about my accomodation for tonight but my moby ran out of money as it costs 60p/min to receive calls. Arse. This message is taking ages to write because the Swedish keyboard has all its symbols in different places. Cool - it has loads of mad keys as well! åäåääåäåä etc. etc. OK so I still don't know where I'm staying tonight - I think it will be at the house of some Swedish Greens but fuck knows. I'm away to "check out the burds".....erm, I mean beautiful architecture. SEE YOUSE ALL LATER. Geo-de-la-funk.

Just spent a relaxing evening in a Swedish Green Party member called Isabella's house in Alby, south west of Stockholm. And guess what.....she loves Alice in Chains too. I knew I wasn't the only person in Europe. About to get the metro back to Stockholm, then I'm catching a late night train to Gothenburg where I will hopefully stay with a guy called Linus. Stockholm is so beautiful - absolutely amazing city. No doubt my pathetic abilities as a photographer will mean that my pictures will not do justice to this magnificent place but I will try. All the best guys, George. P.S. Does anyone want to buy me a Virgin Mobile 5 pound voucher and txt me the number? I need to top up but can't do it here. I will give you the money when I get home. It would be really appreciated as I need to send some SMS's.

Hey guys. Met up with Linus last night and slept at his new flat which has no furniture so that was interesting. Spent the day in Gothenburg which is well cool. Totally different to Stockholm but equally as good. It's got a HUGE university and has really cosmopolitan atmosphere. Nice. Going to a party tomorrow night with some Swedish Greens, then back to the ariport at Stockholm on Saturday for my early morning Sunday flight to Barcelona. Mike - got the topup thanks SO much for doing that. See you later. G

Just a quick one - *nudge wink* The guy out of Roxette (Per Gessle) is an absolute hero here. His solo efforts are the staple listening of most Swedes. More music trivialities - I've just been in the hometown of Ace of Base, which is a nice claim to fame. Did you know that Sweden's state schools give the equivalent and more than likely superior standard of our private music tuition free? That explains such quality acts as the The Cardigans, The Wannadies, Stina Nordenstam etc. (said in all seriousness by they way...). There's also a mad punk band called Attentat from Gothenburg who are crazy nuts. Just don't mention ABBA - they don't like it one bit. Hope all's well in sunny Dundee. It's absolutely great here.

Well that was odd. I just spent the night in the company of some crazy Swedish Greens one of whom likes to drink gravy. No shit, he actually drinks gravy voluntarily. It was a pretty amazing night and now I have learned how to cheat the public transport in Gothenburg and get on for free which is a bonus. Tonight I head back up to Stockholm on a train for my flight to Barcelona tomorrow morning first thing. Will post next update from Catalunya! G-Diddy.
