im getting Factions for my birthday (Friday) but wont be able to play until I get my new flat at the start of June. Should be cool. I've never paid for an MMO either, just saying that it isn't a total rip-off as long as you can afford to spend the time playing it. Some people think it's extortionate that it's charged monthly.

You are paying for constant updates though and improvements to the game world. I reckon its a good thing, it just wouldn't be value for money for me.

Always wondered how guild wars managed to keep developing with no fees.

Yeah I agree, if you have the time to play it then its definately value for money. I know that my boyfriend is certainly getting his use out of it (thats if I'm not too busy playing it myself :P).

If you think about it, some people go out at the weekend and spend a hell of a lot more than the monthly fees on a couple of hours of enjoyment.

Yeah, people who think it's extortionate that a monthly charge has to be paid, aren't really thinking it through.

Unless they think that the development team that develops patches, new features/content, and all the support staff get paid in love.

scottyboy is an unknown quantity at this point
i played WoW for over a year... it's utter crap atm. if you think it's good now you should have played it a year ago when they had proper world PvP. they're supposed to be trying to improve that side of the game in a patch in the near future. tbh it was looking like a lost cause for months before i quit and from what i hear no one's impressed by the early patch notes.

as for the monthly fee, it's good value for money if you enjoy the game, no question.

They get through it by not releasing new content until it's in a new saga (Factions) and then charge you full price again. It seems to work at getting non MMO fiends into the genre.

Online i play:
cs:s (on the uesc monkeybrothel server and other random ones)
warsow
bf2 (although it's a pretty shit game)
gw
eve

generally it's all just cs:s though. best game on the planet.

i play utopia and castlequest 2 they're both just text based browser games but they're damn addictive especially castlequest.
it can take a while to get a place in castlequest though, i had try for 2 weeks before i got in. if you join i'm smallbob, if you're a death mage i'll be able to sell you some stuff to help you out at the start, maybe a couple of forest mage creatures too.
utopia is at www.swirve.com
can't remeber the address for cq something like cqbt2.be just google it.
