Final Fantasy XII
Agh I'm gay I know. But honest to god, since FFVIII I have never loved a game series (or game) more.
Blasted a hefty 13 hours on FFXII already and it's quality, fighting is much better, once you get used to it. The gambit system is total aggro, either amazing or total nightmare. Equipment/Ability system is pretty dodgey for me, but I reckon once I get my head round it, it'll be alright. Characters = pish, they barely exist, it's just people you use and the story as far as I can tell makes no sense whatsoever, then again none of FF series has really given away anything until the last half. But yeah, anyone got it, anyone loving it? |

You ever played any of them before? If not, I suggest you don't buy it, cos you'll probably be sorely disapointed. If you have, I'm sure you know where I am coming from with the above statemtent.
Also, the cut-scenes are amazing. And to anyone who may read this who knowzzz their shit, I just got a 'chain' of 125! chuffed. |

So far i think 12 to be the best since 7. Till then FF9 was my fav (other than the already mentioned 7).
I disagree about the characters though, 3 of the main ones have been really good *Vaan(basicly Zidane from 9 but without a tail...and less into girls...shame),Basche(hahaha Russel Crowe from Gladiator) and that Pirate Dude (with a dodgy posh accent but fantastic one liners - "aaaah everyday we learn new ways to kill a man")* The fighting system is much better and yeah the gambits are either really helpful or utter crap. I like the skills progression with licences though coz it makes it easier to customise characters...only problem is having to buy the technikes, gambits, magic etc before you can use them because other than selling loot finding money (gill) is rather difficult and random. How are people finding the 'hunts'? I've only completed two of them...got stuck on the 5th (the bastard kills my party membvers with one friggin hit!!!) and i havnt tried hunting the Wraith (number 4) yet. |

Not had much of a chance to play it, only about 2 hours or so, but so far its shaping up to be the gayest game i've ever played. Even gayer than Enchanted Arms on 360 and that (OMG) actually featured a homosexual.
Anyone else noticed not only the way all the guys dress, but all the innuendo thats laced throughout it? Or maybe its all just me and all the guys of Ivalice are super macho and they only wear vest tops and waistcoats to lure women *cough* |

Cluckatrice, get protect/cure as your main priority on all characters, go in get the first chickatrice to go to sleep (you may have to do this a few times to get it without making the Cluckatrice aware of what your doing). Lay into it with your most powerful attacks, then your numbers are a little more even and it shouldn't be as hard. The tortoise thing, stand in the entrance to the tunnel (where it begins to get closed in) so it can't hit you with physical attacks, shell and cure top priority on all characters, and hit it with long range attacks/magicks. I was between level 18 and 20 when I fought the hunts above. Good place to get levelled up and expensive loot to sell is the Lhusu Mines, the bit where the mad amount of zombies come at you, get huge chains and loadsa bone fragments which are like 200 gil each or something. Sorry if this is considered a spoiler or whatever, I don't know how to do that cover up your text thing. I still think the characters are boring, they legit have no past or story to them, it's just "blah I am non-sensically here", then again in FF, stories often take a while to be revealed. On a side note, who do you think has been the best FF character throughout the series? Mine is Cecil from FFIV, just cos he seems the most morally distraught and is really well written. |

ive clocked only about 16 hours, but im not really that far through cus i have fannied about loads playing with the licences and hunts and shit.
its really good like, ive barely scratched the plot or most of the game i guess but so far so good, really addictive with the new battle system, makes leveling up alot easier then running around hoping to get a fight (u can actually just see and attack the creatures now.) licence board / buying weapons is a pain though. i have my licence board pretty sorted for the tecknics and magkics but hardly any are for sale at my part of the game yet. And i havnt really looked into weapons. the best gambit info i have at the mo would be to equip "foe:hp100% = steal" because that way you usually get useful loot to sell (sometimes twice because you can pick stuff up after the fight) Ive done the first four hunts but i have tried the fifth yet because I am currently leveling up my players to beat the "demon wall" cus seemingly if u do you get a good sword ![]() |

On a side note, who do you think has been the best FF character throughout the series?[quote] I've only played 7,8,9,10,10.5,12 soooo FF7 - Sephiroth (c'mon he has the best lines by far and he looks badass) FF8 - Seifer (anyone else want a white trenchcoat and matching Gunblade?) FF9 - Steiner (possibly the funniest character in the series) FF10 - Auron (err...the only character i found even remotly interesting in FF10) FF10.5 (.....a random feind that doent talk...mainly because this game was oh so very awful...) Cheers for the Hunt advice before dude. Havnt been online for a while and i've done much more hunts but still havnt killed the big tortoise in the mines...think i'll try the long range attack idea tonight. How awsome is the Gigas Summon bytheway? Its the only one i have so far but its aaaace. Took down the Whvren (in the western nim durka durkastan destert or whatever the hell its called) in just a few hits! |
