Played Enemy Territory: Quake Wars at work (you can legally play it on a LAN without buying a copy for each player)
It's not amazing, but I think it's well worth buying. I prefer the arcade style physics of games like Halo, but this game is still well worth a look. The sniper rifle is class. It's a pretty standard sniper rifle, but the maps allow you to really use it from miles away, which few games allow you to do. One map springs to mind, where there are two bases surrounded by mountains in a massive desert, and you can go up into the hills and snipe from there. Top class |

I still prefer CSS as TF2 is just a bit of a mad rammy with too many people not having a clue what to do yet. It will get better I imagine once folk get settled in. Portal gave me quite a few headaches in the later levels. lol I've bought ET:QW but not installed it yet. Going to wait until i've completed HL2:EP2 before I get into that. Good news on the sniping, sounds like fun ![]() |

I got into TFC when everyone had been playing it long enough to know what's going on.
I much prefer it to CSS, as I prefer arcade style gameplay to this pseudo-realism nonsense, pissing the player off, because you're pretending that some arbitrary game-design decision makes the game more like real life. For some reason, not being able to respawn until the start of the next round is realistic (because that's when real life soldiers respawn after dying? I don't get it), but being able to buy weapons out of thin air is completely OK, because that happens in real life. Because of the different classes in Team Fortress, there's always loads of different things to do. My personal favourites are the medic (can heal team mates, or infect opposing team members with a plague that spreads between them ) and the spy (can disguise as opposing team members, feign death, and backstabbing people kills them in one hit. Nice) |

I suppose if your not a FPS type of person it could grate. I've been playing more and more of them recently. Anything with a story is good for me though. I consider playing games a bit like reading a novel. The story has to be there to keep me interested most of the time. |

Downloaded TF2 yesterday, finally got around to playing it today. It's fucking great! Runs surprisingly well on my shitty computer and still looks pretty. Winner. Anyone for a game sometime soon?

Haha, i agree with the AI but that goes right up on harder difficulties. Best thing about the darkness though? Mike Patton does the voice of the wee demons inside your head. Awsome. |

Yeah thats the one. Its meant to be a prequel to Butcher Bay, include an updated version of butcher bay andd then something else?
Notice how the Riddick game was 10x better than the film both in terms of storyline AND acting? |

I liked the Movie so i might pick the Game up.
Just about to go pop off Paulie now, dunno how much of the game i have left to do. Then i think i'll make a start on the halo games. Better give the house a run round just now though, afore the Missus gets home! ![]() |

Aye, it's Butch Bay, then an assault on a ship called Athena. or the other way around, I cannot recall. But I'll be buying it because I didn't complete it last time, I got stuck, but this time round there will be achievements involved. I hope they don't include multiplayer cos that would be a complete waste! Plus, achievements for online multiplAYER ARE SUCH A COP OUT.
