This game gives me a boner... although the early part of the narrative suggests that they really are trying to make sure you identify with the main character... which is annoying for me because I have to hear my name about a thousand times while people are playing.

Cool things I've found so far:

You can get to the airport right from the start, and get to the other islands via helicopter, which is pretty cool. No more blue balls playing through the missions to get to the good stuff.

You can hail a taxi to take you where you want to go, which takes the tedium out of trying to get to particular places.

The roads look awesome when it's raining.

i changed the controls to classic almost straight away, can't get used to using triggers for accelerate/brake. It's annoying that you can't use them for look left/right/behind though, it means there's no really fast way to get back to looking straight ahead.

(PS3 here)

I'm used to the triggers being for accelerate/brake, because I played the previous games on the Xbox rather than the PS2.

Crashing your vehicle seems to punish you a lot more in this one.

Such a bloody good game. Glad you can still kill hookers to get your money back...not that Rockstar endorses that sort of thing or anything...
Im in the 2nd safehouse now, still havnt gone to the other islands like Algonquin. The game is really really really dark (in tone) compared to the others. Its still funny but its very black humour at times.

Went into Game yesterday afternoon and there were truck loads of them left but none in gamestation.

Have to resist playing it as I have exams, totally shite. Maybe just a quick half hour as a treat? Why did they have to bring this out at this time of year

I had a good laugh repeatedly prank calling the fire department, and stealing their fire trucks.

Looking at the list of achievements in the game, it looks like there's still loads of features that I've not got to yet, like being able to take photographs. I noticed that if you go into a police car, they have a computer in there that you can use to look up criminals by name or photograph.

I agree with what people are saying about the tone of the game being darker. They've made it a lot darker, but without losing the sense of humour that made the games so good in the first place.
